I had a very bad experience, today we went to this restaurant and the service was poor, they don't do corck cage and the atmosphere is not good enough, this place is in a wondeful location water front but the ambience and the environment is not good, they need to improve in service and in The ambience, maybe live music... Went with my husband and our 23 year old son while visiting from Australia. we were warmly welcomed and taken to a window table with great water views. The waiting staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Every one of our meals were not only beautifully presented but quite delicious. Overall a wonderful night. Would certainly recommend it for a special occasion.

Top notch service with excellent service. Went to Five Sails Restaurant for our anniversary and definitely enjoyed there. Both me and my girlfriend ordered the seasonal 3 course menu. We both had squash soup with pumpkin seed for starter, and then we had slow poached salmon with infused whipped potatoes for main course. And finally we had lemon curd tarte... More

The food at the Five Sails is truly delicious and presented beautifully as well. The view from the floor to ceiling windows is breath taking. It is one of the most lovely restaurants in Vancouver and I highly recommend to visitors and locals equally.

This restaurant and its partner lounge have huge glass windows pointing out into the Burrard Inlet and across to The Northshore. It can be a beautiful view and entertaining too with seaplanes, rowers, seabuses and cruise ships coming and going. The service is excellent but it is expensive. Even the lounge fare however you may be tempted to stay awhile... More

The food is absolutely outstanding with a wine list that encompasses some of my favorites from California. Portions are definitely on the smaller side but the quality and flavors can't be beat. The service is top notch and the view of the north shore mountains is absolutely remarkable.

We went to 5 sails for our 50th wedding anniversary dinner. The food was outstanding. They have a house Chardonnay (Burrowing Owl) the was amazing. It is a Canadian winery and I had to order a few bottles from them when I got home. The views are great if you get a window table. Make an early reservation and ask... More

We ended up at Five Sails by chance...after a long work day and not wanting to go out in the rain. Lucky us! The tuna appetizer-- the best! Halibut -- amazing! But the dessert was the star -- absolutely top notch service tops off on excellent dining experience. Highly recommend.

Description
Dramatically situated on the waterfront pier at Canada Place, this AAA Four Diamond award winning fine dining restaurant offers a breathtaking natural backdrop of the inner harbor, Stanley Park and Coastal mountains with gracious hospitality in an understated elegant setting. Proprietors Chef Ernst Dorfler and Gerry Sayers, a husband and wife team, bring years of experience to Five Sails skillfully fusing modern, continental cuisine with European influences to cultivate a memorable dining experience. Showcasing the mastery that made Chef Dorfler an internationally acclaimed Culinary Olympic World Champion, his signature mountain raviolis stuffed with fine herbs, spinach and ricotta then finished with a drizzle of hazelnut butter harken back to his Austrian childhood. The innovative "Catch!", a veritable cornucopia of seafood is enrobed in a lemongrass sauce perfumed with coconut milk and hint of chili, displays world-class passion and artistry. Sommelier, Ramon Fresneda, always brings impressive knowledge and unpretentious flair in providing optimal wine pairings from a list consistently honoured with the Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence. The gracious service and exemplary dining combined with sweeping views of ships sailing off into the setting sun is an experience like none other.
