We tried a few dim sum dishes like shrimp dumpling, crab meat dumpling, chicken feet, steamed bun w chicken, and fish fillet rice roll. They were just so so. The restaurant was big but not all the tables were occupied. Service could be better.

A seafood restaurant that does not sale seafood. Foods are ok and portions are reasonable sized, but waiters were unprofessional and poor attitude, worst of all they insisted on a 15% tips! Very disappointed, One star is just about too many.

I last visited this place about 15 years ago. It is about the same, but now one orders dim sum dishes rather than pick from carts which are pushed past. Prompt, friendly service. Good dishes. Reasonable prices.

This restaurant was a recommendation from our Historical Chinatown tour guide when we asked for a place for lunch. The dim sum is to die for. It is authentic, fresh and flavorful. The portions were perfect. Easy to place your order on an order form found on your table. Will definitely return.

The food was excellent , not salty you so often encounter A very balance taste and fresh produce used. However it looks like total mayhem in the restaurant . Our appetizer arrived After the soup because the one we ordered was no longer available. It seems there is no coordination at all. Yet we enjoyed the food.

Do not expect authentic Chinese food here. It was quite a disappointment. We requested for Chinese menu. It is eventually a bi-language menu. Nothing special about it. The food was of average quality I guess China Town is not the right place to get Authentic Chinese Food. In additional, the location might not be the safest in Vancouver.

Recommended by our tour guide and didn't disappoint. Excellent lunch. Mainly Asian clientele which says something as to the quality of the food. Fresh ingredients. Prompt service. Will be returning.

Floata was a bit difficult to find at first. It is on the third floor of building in Chinatown that has street numbers somewhat obscured. The restaurant has a Chinese menu and a tourist menu. We were first given tourist menu and requested the other menu. The seafood dishes are great. Lots of live seafood available. Not much atmosphere but... More

This restaurant seems to be very popular with Chinese people as they made up about 90% of the customers. They have a huge dinning room crowded with large round tables. They provide a brief, plastic coated menu of pictures of many food choices, but no description. There is an order form for you to fill out with writing in Chinese,... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
With the recent exodus of massive new building projects hitting the neighbourhood, Chinatown; which has always been one of the city's most vibrant areas; is even more buzzing and buoyant than ever before. Playing host to some of the city's best pan-Asian cuisine, from fusion food to traditional home-cooking, Chinatown has remained faithful to its roots as a space which clambers with shop signs and welcomes diners to the table. More that that, it has a hip experimental vibe to it, with trendy pop-ups and catchall market shops. The biggest of Canada's Chinatowns, it is also home to an expansive Chinese garden whose manicured grounds inspire and delight, its ponds and pagodas drawing walkers in for an stroll. Take in the red streetlights, the playful awnings, and the upbeat air that suffuse this area.
