I like this cheese cake. So good:) And tea is good, though it is tea bug. In the noon on Sunday noon. Free wifi is available, there is a patch of paper on the cash register.

Calhoun's is the perfect place to study. That's well known among the students though, because it's quite difficult to get a table here in the later hours. Food is pay-as-you-grab. With a wide selection of warm meals and bakery goods. Warm drinks are prepared by baristas in front of you. A purchase is necessary to renew the wifi-password every 3... More

I had good memories of this place from 2011. This experience didn't measure up. I had a dry, potato-heavy pie; my partner hada cheap mayonaise-saturated salad. Neither worth the price. Didn't bother with the coffee. Staff smiled, but disengaged. Give it a miss. Lots of much better places in this area.

I go to Calhoun's occasionally (not sure why I've given it more than one chance), but each time I am terribly disappointed by the slow and rude service. It generally takes the people who work there 5-10 minutes to start to serve you even though there is nobody else in line. Food is good, but the service blows. I don't... More

Calhoun's used to be a great spot years ago where you could go and get a big cup of coffee and chill out with your friends. The joke was you needed a laptop to get in since most patrons sit for hours on end with their 'bottomless' coffee working on school assignments. Now it has more of a ski lodge... More

Popped in to visit a friend. It had been a go to for years and was looking forward to it. However it was tired, messy, cheesecake was stale and pizza mushy. Bathroom in disarray and door broken. Won't be back.

This café I believe is open 24 hours a day ... it is essentially a place for UBC students to study whenever they want. We had a couple of beers (Stanley Park beers) which were OK ... the food looked like typical Student café AKA mediocre. The ambiance was interesting and the service was slow. Basically nothing special.

Snacks and tea for the three of us: $25.00 Being able to meet friends later in the evening at a place that wasn't going to close and didn't care how long we sat talking on their patio: priceless

This place means well, the food is good, but reheated in a microwave, which should make it fast but in my case it took about 20 minutes to get a quiche. When I asked whether it would be delivered to the table they said no they just call it out. They didn't call it out and it sat there getting... More

Staying in Kitsilano

Neighborhood Profile
Kitsilano is one of Vancouver's most transformative neighbourhoods. With a long history of coffee culture and poetry readings, its days of flower children and buskers may be long-gone, but not without leaving their mark on the number of organic restaurants and fair-trade cafes in the area. At the centre of Kitsilano ("Kits" for short) the almost idyllic expanse of Kits Beach offers the opportunity for a relaxed afternoon of beach volleyball or sunbathing. Along with the beachfront, nearby public pools and trendy street-beats have driven up the homeowners prices, making it a haven for stylish home goods stores, from design and furniture, to supplies and appliances. The multitude of both families and public spaces also make it a happening neighbourhood in the summer, when festivals and fairs take to Kits' streets.
