The main entrance was closed for wedding party but we quickly found out that the lower entrance in Hamilton Street was open. From the moment that we arrived at the entrance to are paying the bill at the end there was a succession of staff who could not do enough for you and genuinely seemed interested in your enjoyment. The... More

Very nice place. Went there on a Tuesday night and it was very quiet. Very nice place inside and sat at the bar. Bartender was very helpful and knowledgeable. What impressed me the most was the food dishes - the decent sizes and reasonable prices. The food was unique, portions much better than expected and it was well priced, especially... More

We have visited twice for special occasions (our anniversary in June and my mother's birthday in August). The atmosphere is fantastic, classy but never stuffy. A great wine list, polite and attentive staff. This is a stand-out restaurant and our no. 1 choice for special occasions.

Excellent meal at Brix and Mortar. Server knew her stuff: details about the dishes, and offered useful comments to our questions rather than a generic 'all of them are good'. Knew the wine list pretty well too, even though it had just been updated. Wine prices are about 2X Bay Area retail on mid and higher-priced wines (pretty good compared... More

Brix & Mortar. the name is the 1st thing that stands out from the rest. Yaletown is filled with restaurant after restaurant all wanting to be the next trendy place to be. Brix & Mortar doesn't look that much different from the outside, but as soon as you walk in, it feels different. I think it mainly had to do... More

My wife and I had a thoroughly enjoyable evening at Brix and Mortar. Dined outside. Great Yaletown scene. The waitstaff is friendly, knowledgeable and engaging. The food and drink is delicious, well prepared and fairly priced. I thoroughly enjoyed the smoked sable gnocchi. The kale salad was perhaps the best we ever had. Would certainly revisits if we are lucky... More

What a great evening! Lovely restaurant with covered courtyard dining, great ambiance combined with wonderful food. Presentation was lovely, the greens were very fresh, fish and beef were delicious and perfectly prepared. The sides, especially mushrooms, were amazing. Service was friendly and attentive.

Thank Sally B

A Yaletown icon for 15+ years, Brix Restaurant has said goodbye to its downstairs cocktail lounge, George, and brought the newly renovated space together with Brix under one roof and one new name - Brix & Mortar. With the new concept comes a refreshed food and beverage program-including 60+ wines by the glass-offered with the same on-point service, starting at 5:00 pm daily. The new menu features modern Canadian cuisine with subtle French, Italian and Asian influences and locally sourced ingredients. Accessible from both Homer and Hamilton St., Brix & Mortar offers 228 seats, with 80 situated over two outdoor patios, including the iconic outdoor courtyard-a favourite for hosted events and weddings. The downstairs space has undergone an exciting redesign, creating a fine-dining room suitable for any occasion or appetite.

Staying in Yaletown & False Creek North

Neighborhood Profile
Yaletown & False Creek North
Yaletown has risen from the ashes of its rough-and-tumble industrial past into one of Vancouver's new chicest neighbourhoods. The place responsible for originating of the phrase 'skid row' might not call to mind independently-owned boutiques and terraced cafes, but having swallowed the waterfront lines of False Creek North, the resulting amalgamation transformed the area into an elegant, stylish hotspot with a view. Its youthful vibe owes to the many young families and young professionals who live there, bolstering nightlife and restaurant variety along its cobbled streets. It is the flagship neighbourhood for modern revitalization, and the It-Spot for boutique hotels and modish eats.
