We had dinner here on a rainy fall evening. The ambience is wonderful, our waitress Amanda was amazing, and the food incredible. I ordered the pork chop served with kimchi rice. It was literally the best one I've ever eaten - to die for! It was a huge serving and despite being full half way through it, it was so... More

Amazing location, beautiful decor, and super tasty food! We were there for the Taste of Yaletown and had the $35.00 menu which included a starter, main, and dessert. All of it was delicious, I'm sure I will be back!

I'm sure it was just an off night but unfortunately our experience was not the greatest. For starters we had the beet salad and the carpaccio. The beet salad was bland - begging for some acidity and could have used more beets. The carpaccio was good but again was under seasoned and came with an odd overly large mountain of... More

From the outside, in trendy Yaletown, this restaurant suggests more flair than fare. But, one glance at the well thought out menu, and then the exceptional wine list, you realize that there is a serious undertone going on. The service, the obviously fresh ingredients and the subtle décor all come together to deliver an exceptional dining experience. Give it a... More

My husband and I eloped and celebrated by having dinner at Brix & Mortar. The service was excellent and our server Chris went above and beyond to make our night special. He was not only very friendly but also very knowledgable. We sat in the courtyard which was very beautifully lit with candles, making it cozy and romantic. We started... More

We asked our hotel concierge who he would recommend for a steak and he recommended the Keg. On the way we asked directions from a nice couple who were waiting to cross the road. Whilst walking in the same direction Brix and told us it was their favorite place for a nice meal. As we were only 50 metres away... More

This place had an elegant atmosphere and delicious food. Loved the brick walls to give it an old warehouse feel. Loved the salmon and the appetizers with cheese, meat and garnishes. This placed rocked and had a romantic feel.

Located in downtown Vancouver's historic Yaletown district, Brix & Mortar is a great place for dinner whether dining as a large group or solo (I went alone and ate at the bar). The restaurant feels very comfortable with a nice mixture of modern and classic design elements - descent use of wood, exposed brick with strategic lighting. The menu has... More

We weren't sure where we were going to eat but stumbled across this little gem. From start to finish there were no faults. We were checked on regularly but unobtrusively. The food was amazing with the waitresses recommendations being spot on. Annoyingly we forgot her name (blonde waitress serving outside - you were amazing!) We ended up having three courses... More

A Yaletown icon for 15+ years, Brix Restaurant has said goodbye to its downstairs cocktail lounge, George, and brought the newly renovated space together with Brix under one roof and one new name - Brix & Mortar. With the new concept comes a refreshed food and beverage program-including 60+ wines by the glass-offered with the same on-point service, starting at 5:00 pm daily. The new menu features modern Canadian cuisine with subtle French, Italian and Asian influences and locally sourced ingredients. Accessible from both Homer and Hamilton St., Brix & Mortar offers 228 seats, with 80 situated over two outdoor patios, including the iconic outdoor courtyard-a favourite for hosted events and weddings. The downstairs space has undergone an exciting redesign, creating a fine-dining room suitable for any occasion or appetite.

Staying in Yaletown & False Creek North

Neighborhood Profile
Yaletown & False Creek North
Yaletown has risen from the ashes of its rough-and-tumble industrial past into one of Vancouver's new chicest neighbourhoods. The place responsible for originating of the phrase 'skid row' might not call to mind independently-owned boutiques and terraced cafes, but having swallowed the waterfront lines of False Creek North, the resulting amalgamation transformed the area into an elegant, stylish hotspot with a view. Its youthful vibe owes to the many young families and young professionals who live there, bolstering nightlife and restaurant variety along its cobbled streets. It is the flagship neighbourhood for modern revitalization, and the It-Spot for boutique hotels and modish eats.
