Came here 2 nights running. First time we just came across it. It stood out from the rest because it was quieter than some of the bars serving food round about. Food was good and well presented - all of us enjoyed our choices. Service was also good.

It has probably been 15 years since I have been here. I did frequent it several times before way back. My favorite red devil martini is no longer served. They have a lovely courtyard at their Homer Street entrance and an outdoor patio on their Hamilton Street entrance. My friend and I tried their 3 course set menu and we... More

Really enjoyable meal. Our waiter was very friendly and very helpful regarding recommendations for places to go and things to do in Vancouver. Delicious mussels and great cheese board. We were on a mission to try some local wines and the selections that were recommended were very good. The owner is clearly passionate about his wine list and his selections.... More

Without doubt the star mussel dish for our holiday in Vancouver. The flavour of the sauce was quite stunning...so good that we went back and had the same dish 3 times. The service was friendly and professional and the ambience was great. I thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

It was our first time visiting Brix and Mortar. We got a great seat on the lower patio facing Yaletown which gave it a great vibe. I had an amazing Gnocchi with smoked Sablefish and my wife had a very nice Halibut. We shared the Pot Au Chocolat for dessert. The food was great and so was the service. Well... More

Had a nice meal here. Was in Vancouver for 14 nights so tried a lot of places. Food was pretty good here. Atmosphere on a Friday night was a bit lacking inside terrace had more people. Better places around. Best recommendation and not to be missed is nightingale.

The location is excellent , the food is excellent , the menu is varied , the fish and risotto dishes are wonderful . Nice deck . Sometimes there are some smokers outside that may bother you. Just ask your waiter to ask them to move. And boy the bartender knows how to make drinks come alive. Well appointed ambiance and... More

Had dinner last weekend with friends, still as good as the last time. The restaurant as grown, and now has a covered patio, which is where we sat. Very nice on a clear warm night. Our waitress was very good, very attentive, and gave us plenty of time to order. The food was fabulous and very plentiful, no one left... More

I entered this restaurant "hangry" and left incredibly happy & well-fed. Wonderful service by our waiter, Cipriani (yes, like the restaurant in Venice), a nice wine list, and a homey meal and apps. The calamari is a must get appetizer and the tagliatelle was amazing.

A Yaletown icon for 15+ years, Brix Restaurant has said goodbye to its downstairs cocktail lounge, George, and brought the newly renovated space together with Brix under one roof and one new name - Brix & Mortar. With the new concept comes a refreshed food and beverage program-including 60+ wines by the glass-offered with the same on-point service, starting at 5:00 pm daily. The new menu features modern Canadian cuisine with subtle French, Italian and Asian influences and locally sourced ingredients. Accessible from both Homer and Hamilton St., Brix & Mortar offers 228 seats, with 80 situated over two outdoor patios, including the iconic outdoor courtyard-a favourite for hosted events and weddings. The downstairs space has undergone an exciting redesign, creating a fine-dining room suitable for any occasion or appetite.

Staying in Yaletown & False Creek North

Neighborhood Profile
Yaletown & False Creek North
Yaletown has risen from the ashes of its rough-and-tumble industrial past into one of Vancouver's new chicest neighbourhoods. The place responsible for originating of the phrase 'skid row' might not call to mind independently-owned boutiques and terraced cafes, but having swallowed the waterfront lines of False Creek North, the resulting amalgamation transformed the area into an elegant, stylish hotspot with a view. Its youthful vibe owes to the many young families and young professionals who live there, bolstering nightlife and restaurant variety along its cobbled streets. It is the flagship neighbourhood for modern revitalization, and the It-Spot for boutique hotels and modish eats.
