We went twice during our 4 days trip to Vancouver since they were so good and fresh! It is the place to go if you are looking for sushis in that area :)

I chose the Special Bento dinner. Green salad, tempura (prawn, yam, marrow?), California roll, nigiri (prawn, salmon, tuna), kake udon Very good, all fresh, served promptly, hot choices hot, sushi not icy cold - just right. Nigiri moist, fresh. Kake udon just the right texture, a little chewy, not any mush. So happy I finally made it here. Only complaint... More

Such a gem close to UBC, with really fair prices and innovative and crazy sushi. Not very Japanese purist sushi but delicious explosion of flavours with every bite. Make sure to check out the special rolls on the special menu - you won't regret it.

Walk through the door of this little sushi bar on W 10th Ave in Point Grey and suddenly you're in Tokyo! Not the Ginza, maybe, but authentic Japan. It's very unlike the glass & steel or black-laquered wood varieties of West Coast sushi bars, and more like the real thing. I had Seafood Ishiyaki in a hot rock bowl --... More

I went there with my girlfriend in the evening of last Friday after 8 PM, the service was ok and the restaurant was half empty, but the chicken was too dry and rice was a bit marshy.

We ordered their bbq beef short rib bento, sushi combo and their grilled fish combo. Luckily we were not in hurry, the last order was served abit slow. Our first 2 orders was served shortly after we ordered. I wouldnt mind waiting for the grilled fish if the waitress had informed me that the fish would take abit longer to... More

Always busy and can be hard to get a table but that is because it is consistently good food. Would be one of our favorite sushi places.

Given the overwhelming amount of options for sushi restaurants in Vancouver that are excellent, the fact that my husband and I repeatedly come to Hime for lunch, snacks, dinner, takeout, etc., is pretty telling! We love how buttery their cuts of tuna sashimi are and they have a unique variety of appetizer options so there can be something for anyone... More

In a city filled with excellent sushi and Japanese cuisine - this is not a place to get acquainted with either if you are serious. Prices for basic items like Tekka Maki (tuna roll) are slightly higher than average - and the preparation is barely average. They do not toast their nori (seaweed) and the construction of the maki is... More

Staying in West Point Grey

Neighborhood Profile
West Point Grey
West Point Grey is one of the city’s oldest neighbourhoods, especially known for its easygoing and admired beachfronts. Locals crowd the Spanish Banks and Jericho Beach, especially in the summer, where a sprawling view of the English Bay awaits. The central village is an oasis of sovereign shops, many of them in local operation for years. The neighbourhood has a more personal feeling to it, and can be a wonderful and much-needed break from the bustle of big-city life, being a little haven of peace and quiet with an almost village temperament in the heart of Vancouver.
