Inspired and imagined by Jo-Ann, the bakery is simply an extension of her love for people and food. Muffins, breads, tarts and treats. Our menu is full of variety. We cater lunch functions with hearty sandwiches, soups, salads and pastries. Simple, not to be reproduced, this bakery is as unique as its setting just off English Bay. Started out of her own kitchen, Jo-Ann's aim is easily detected: she simply wants you to adore her baking. And you will.

Great pies, affordable, the borscht was some of the best I've had. Very friendly. Out door seating. Wifi. Key lime pie, butter tarts.

No business sense. I go in there to buy a loaf of bread - which I see sitting on the shelf. They refuse to sell it to me because they say they are closed. Even though staff are in there and bread is on the shelf. Hello are we in business to sell bread or not?

The food is fresh, the soups are hot, and very good, and the service is very good. Twice I have had the Soup and Sandwich combo; both times I have enjoyed my lunch. The prices are reasonable, about $12. I have yet to enjoy any of the treats: pies, bars, and cookies....but I will next time; they look great.

Attractive spot for a light lunch, though probably a bit out of the way unless you’re staying in the area or taking a walk along the seawall. We ordered a bowl of chili ($5.80) and a tomato soup ($4.95) and, as it was a nice day, took advantage of the sidewalk seating. The chili was a tasty mix of beef,... More

I was working in the neighbourhood and stumbled upon this little gem. It is fairly isolated from the city but very close to the seawall. one of those spots that if you don't know it you, probably would never find it. Daily specials and a small simple menu keep everything fresh and freshly prepared. The baked goods are divine (you... More

The service here was awful. The banana cream pie was warm and the slice tiny and the cost of a cup of tea was extortionate.

This a place where locals get their breakfast/lunch fix. Sandwiches and backed good are fresh and tasty, coffee is good and pies are outstanding. The place has sufficient sitting inside and outside and service is very prompt. We stayed nearby and stopped by number of times.

This is an awesome bakery that makes it's own fresh bread. They make wonderful sandwiches and delicious pies and treats, although their coffee (lattés) is lacking sorely.

Different selection of sandwiches every day, plus soup and pies to die for! Eat on the patio or inside, plus sodas, tea & coffee.

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
