Okay, the decor and ambience are...kinda gross. It smelled pretty bad when we walked in. However, the 2 dishes we had were great. The beef bahn mi was one of the better ones in Vancouver and cost $5. The vermicelli and spring rolls were also awesome ($10). We got tea without asking (someone else complained about that on this site).

I was there a few nights ago and for the second time in a row I've had to ask for tea. If you are Asian you get a teapot of tea and if you are white you get a glass of water no ice. Even when I asked for tea I got no teapot, just tea in a glass. Plus he... More

The food is rather bland. The service is okay. The price is okay for the amount of the food, but considering the mediocre quality and tasteless food, this restaurant is not worth it. The place gets busy at lunch, so naturally, it can get quite noisy as well.

Worst Viet food I've ever had. I'll be surprised if I'm not I'll later. The sauces are watery, the salad roll whichnis cheaper elsewhere is 1/2 the size...

After a previous visit that was decent, I returned. The pho that was first delivered was poor, so I sent it back. The second bowl was cold. Lots of other good restaurants around. I'll never return to this place.

The interior is a bit worn out. Floors need replacement. Seating is ok, but definitely not a "date" place. The beef pho was delivered quickly along with tea. It was a pleasant pho. Nothing special, but good food. At $8.50 for a large bowl, it's good value. I'd come back for lunch another time.

Prompt service. Pho with rare steak actually had rare steak. I had a sweet drip coffee, as well, which made me nostalgic for Vietnam. Recommended.

Dismay setting. Place isn't very clean to begin with. As soon as you walked it, we were greeted with poor lighting and out of date furnitures. Food was nothing to rave about. I ordered the large pho which tasted mediocre, no onions in which was odd to me. The salad roll was dry and we could tell it was made... More

Having flown to Vancouver from Cambodia the first thing I saw getting out of the train station was this restaurant. I was both comforted and a little skeptical about how authentic it would be. 5 days later, I decided to go in and give it a go. The staff were very accommodating and the food was great. All the usual... More

My g/f and I went for dinner. We were greeted promptly and sat in a booth. The menus were folded piece of paper advertising a special that ended in September of 2012. It was basically their take out menu that they use as regular menus. No big deal. The place needed a coat of paint. My g/f is vegetarian and... More

Neighborhood Profile
Residential neighbourhood to the ultra-wealthy, the gorgeous manor houses centred around The Crescent area are a fabled sight to behold. Shaughnessy is Vancouver's most verdant plotted neighbourhood, and its tree-lined streets, walking routes, bike trails, and charming public parks make for an ideal location to spend and afternoon communing with nature. Consequently, it is also the botanical centre of the city, featuring conservatories and an expansive Botanical Garden, taming and sculpting the wild into seasonal viewing areas and enchanting landscapes.
