I was hopeful when checking out this Kerrisdale area restaurant and had figured to try their fish and chips as I expected that level of restaurant. Instead when I saw swordfish for a similar price, I ordered blackened swordfish with peri peri sauce. The fish was succulent and excellently cooked. The blackening was precise and not too thick a coating... More

Second trip to Vancouver. Couldn't remember the name of this joint from the first trip but remembered the general location. Found it after a bit of sleuthing and ordered a cod and chips take away. It was a cold rainy day and the warm comfort food ended my day brilliantly. As I was in Vancouver for 5 days, I made... More

Had a drop in lunch with my elderly mother today. Brilliant food, perfectly cooked and presented. I had a delicious blackened salmon salad and my mother had crab cakes. Very congenial service. Pleasant surroundings.

Stumbled upon the Fish Cafe while driving around the area. As we didn't have internet connectivity we knew we were taking a chance. Just delighted with the food, service and laid back atmosphere. Well worth a drive to the West...

Go there regularly, love the fresh fish especially blackened salmon or halibut. Fish and chips are loved by the kids! Salad also fantastic. Highly recommend.

Joined a colleague for an impromptu business lunch. Fish Café was a convenient location. What a lucky break! I had calamari that was perfectly grilled melt-in-your-mouth. My colleague had the fish and chips for which they are known. The fish had the right amount of batter. Definitely worth a trip to Kerrisdale.

WE have Fish and Chips all over the world and this by far is the very best ever!. Generous portions and one can choose to have battered or just grilled. Fries are HOT! The homemade Tartar sauce is delish. My husband had the calamari and can`t wait to go back for more. Service was awesome. Nicest young man by the... More

My wife and I stopped here for an off-the-beaten-path lunch option when she joined me on a Vancouver business trip. We started off with the (delicious) sangria and grilled calamari - an incredible choice. My wife particularly like the scallops, and the halibut I had was spectacular! Our sidewalk seating was enjoyable, too! We even got directions and recommendations for... More

Staying in Kerrisdale

Neighborhood Profile
Kerrisdale is Vancouver's laid-back shopping district. In contrast to Robson Street, there is more on offer, at more competitive pricing and a slower pace. Called "The Village" colloquially, over 200 storefronts and one-off shops crowd its streets with products and services. It is set in a comparatively sleepy part of town, with tasteful homes and tree-lined walks. Many of its buildings are listed on the Heritage registry, making it a wonderful place to amble and take in the visual history. Moreover, Kerrisdale's healthy consumer culture is especially apt for those interested in culinary, specialty, or children's shops, boasting more of these than anywhere else, meaning that it's a busy spot for families and hobbyists on the weekends.
