Joined a colleague for an impromptu business lunch. Fish Café was a convenient location. What a lucky break! I had calamari that was perfectly grilled melt-in-your-mouth. My colleague had the fish and chips for which they are known. The fish had the right amount of batter. Definitely worth a trip to Kerrisdale.

WE have Fish and Chips all over the world and this by far is the very best ever!. Generous portions and one can choose to have battered or just grilled. Fries are HOT! The homemade Tartar sauce is delish. My husband had the calamari and can`t wait to go back for more. Service was awesome. Nicest young man by the... More

My wife and I stopped here for an off-the-beaten-path lunch option when she joined me on a Vancouver business trip. We started off with the (delicious) sangria and grilled calamari - an incredible choice. My wife particularly like the scallops, and the halibut I had was spectacular! Our sidewalk seating was enjoyable, too! We even got directions and recommendations for... More

If you want the best Fish and Chips ever then you must try The Fish Cafe located in the Kerrisdale area of Vancouver. My husband had grilled halibut which was delicious and the calamari was outstanding, not done in a batter like most Restaurants tend to do. The Greek salad was generous.

In a sea of stir fried (and other) mediocrities, this stands out as a refreshing alternative. This low-key joint has focus but given the lack of frills, it seems way too expensive -- my snapper was $23! Of course, if that reflects the market prices that's understandable but this is a maritime city. The saving grace is I'd rather have... More

We split a small salad and shared the scallops and grilled squid dinners. Delighted! Our server was gracious and on the job. Oh and we shared the carrot cake for dessert and that was excellent.

We walked in off the street on a rainy Valentines' evening, but were still offered a nice cozy table. We had grilled Steelhead and blackened Ling Cod, and both were just wonderful. At last, a restaurant that understands that if you do one thing very well, you don't need a big song and dance. In this case the thing is... More

I was looking for a restaurant serving fish in the vicinity after an appointment. I loved that their calamari was grilled instead of fried. When I could not decided what side dish I wanted, either rice or fries, I was told I could have some of both. Wonderful. I will definitely go there again the next time I am in... More

Now you may not want to drive to 41st and the Boulevard for dinner, then again you may. You don't have to be neighbourhood, but it helps. There is definitely no pretensions here. Any place that serves the main course in a basket with a fake newspaper lining has go to be good or really mediocre. Fortunately it is the... More

I think the reviews speak for themselves. Three of us went here for dinner. All of us enjoyed our dinner very much. Very much recommended.

Staying in Kerrisdale

Neighborhood Profile
Kerrisdale
Kerrisdale is Vancouver's laid-back shopping district. In contrast to Robson Street, there is more on offer, at more competitive pricing and a slower pace. Called "The Village" colloquially, over 200 storefronts and one-off shops crowd its streets with products and services. It is set in a comparatively sleepy part of town, with tasteful homes and tree-lined walks. Many of its buildings are listed on the Heritage registry, making it a wonderful place to amble and take in the visual history. Moreover, Kerrisdale's healthy consumer culture is especially apt for those interested in culinary, specialty, or children's shops, boasting more of these than anywhere else, meaning that it's a busy spot for families and hobbyists on the weekends.
