Always great service and never had a bad meal. Price point can't be beat! One needs reservations at least a week in advance.

This restaurant is tiny---about 6 or 7 tables, we did sit outside where there were three tables. All of the food is made a la minute and is very, very fresh!!! It was a long trip from our hotel, but worth it!

We came here based upon the great reviews. I was happy to see that this bistro is a bit farther out from Vancouver (only about a 15 minute bus ride though, so easy to get to!), which means less tourists. It was on a cute little street with some other bistros across from a little park. The menu is a... More

We booked for dinner, which was a wise move, even on a Monday. I counted 30 seats indoors. Maybe 10 outside? Very nice atmosphere. Lovely lady owner. The waitress was pretty out to lunch. No sparkling water, but Pellegrino at the next table! We order red wine before food and it gets delivered and opened with the main course. We... More

A small and busy bistro. Reservation in advance is highly recommended. Good food, attentive service and good price.

I love the food and the ambiance. It's a bit tight for space ( just like a Parisienne cafe) and busy and sometimes you do feel like you have to eat quickly as the food just flies out of the kitchen. But...the food is indeed wonderful and the service caring and attentive. The creme Brule is the best that I... More

The place is a little pretentious, but the food is amazing and the drink menu can't be beat. Would highly recommend for friend outings.

We managed to luckily get in without a reso for a friend's birthday dinner. We were delighted by food and wine selection. Turned out to be one of the best impromptu birthday dinners we've had yet. Commercial Drove is lucky to have this little bijou tucked away!! We will be back- with a reso next time.

One of the better meals I've had in some time and I wouldn't really claim to be much of a fan of French cuisine. This place may change that. Do yourself a favour and drop by. I had the tuna starter and the scallop main. The scallops were perfect.

A little disappointed since they are ranked No. 5 in Vancouver. Foods were only average and service was not impressive. We were not comfortable with the strong cooking smell from the Kitchen. They definitely need improvements on their ventilation system. We were told to leave in 2 hours and the waitress couldn't wait to give us the bill 20 minutes... More

Staying in Commercial Drive

Neighborhood Profile
Commercial Drive
Commercial Drive, also called "The Drive," comprises of twelve sauntering blocks of modest and unfussy counter-culture. Straddling the line between sophisticated and unadorned, it is favoured by students, artists, writers, designers, and start-ups, and suffused throughout with a healthy off-beat counter-culture. The kind of neighbourhood which well-springs thought-revolutions and has the odd bit of self-aware graffiti, Commercial Drive has resisted gentrification in favor of continuing to build a thriving den of affordable multiculturalism. Once known as Vancouver's "Little Italy," it has also been the immigration point for Guatemalans, Hondurans, and Portuguese to the city. The resulting hodgepodge makes for poetry readings in espresso cafes, social debates in early-open bakeries, and eco-activism posters pinned up in the many multi-ethnic markets in the area. Commercial Drive is where you go to feel like a local, and if you have them, bring the kids – The Drive has a number of bookshops, toy stores, and attractions to get them involved too.
