We went in for some gelato before we dropped our friend at the airport. We all had different flavors. They are all tasty depending on your tastes. Nice flavorful tastes and options.

This is one of the best ice cream parlors I ever knew ! "Hundreds" of kinds of ice cream, it was difficult to decide for one or two because the scoops are so huge that I couldn't cope with more. So I had to come almost every day and my favorites were Black Sesame (SO yummy !) and some absolutely... More

Mario's has been a favourite of mine since I was a kid and while a ton of other ice cream shops have popped up and disappeared over the years, Mario's has outlasted them all. And for good reason. Great quality gelato at great prices and a variety of flavours and types. You really can't go wrong.

Not the prettiest ice cream parlor, but selections are always good. Delicious. Grab a cone, and walk along the seawall!

Huge selection, reasonable prices, quick service. It's worth a little bit of a trip for and holds up to the other famous gelato shops in town.

Their take-home is better than their in-house. I went there after the line up at Earnest was too long, but was disappointed at how the ice cream looked. It did not appear fresh or creamy, but rather like it had been sitting there for a few weeks. Needless to say, I left Mario's and headed back to Earnest. The take-home... More

We have visited Mario's many times over the years and have never been disappointed. Its location at Olympic Village and Main Street close to China town allow us a number of reasons to indulge in flavour madness. After Dragon Boat practice. A treat at the end of a walk around the full perimeter of False Creek....or.....and I have done this.....a... More

Been a while since we were there due to all the on going construction but thought we would stop in as we were going by. Wide selection Gelati. I gave the Guinness a try, Wife tried the Malaga (Rum & Raisin). Great taste. Over 80 different flavours. A little pricey but a special treat once in a while doesn't kill... More

Staying in Southeast False Creek

Neighborhood Profile
Southeast False Creek
Developed alongside the Vancouver Olympic Village for the 2010 Winter Games, a past fraught with hardship has recently been overcome, and builders are changing the landscape on the ground of Southeast False Creek at a rapid pace. With waterfront dining, ultra-modern facilities, sports stadiums, and a load of greenery, parks, and rest spots built into the ever-changing infrastructure, it's a fast-paced and mutable spot to see Vancouver taking shape and making history. It is especially popular for the casual sportsman, as the Seawall on the water makes for one of the most scenic locations for cycling or roller-blading, jogging or strolling.
