Staying down on Coal Harbor, we wanted to get out to where the locals ate and drank and came across the Dover Arms. What a fun treat! We enjoyed the fish and chips Thursday special, as well as a few beers, and some great laughs and company!

Went looking for a burger around 10 pm. Definitely a great burger. Made fresh, the buns were excellent too! The truffle fries were great. The food came hot and delicious. The wait staff could not have been nicer. A definite spot to go if you're looking for a great burger!!!

Good beer in a little odd surroundings, nice to get off the streets and be greeted with a smile and a cold beer.

Had to ask at library where to find place for a beer our first day here & were directed to this packed-at-5p.m. place. Only sorry husband didn't inquire (and wasn't told) which pints qualified for happy hour pricing. $10 would have made us happier than did $14 (for two) and we might've had a second and an appetizer.

We had just arrived in Vancouver and checked-in to our hotel and were looking for a spot of lunch. We found here quite easily, it seems a lot of locals use it. The staff were very friendly and we only had beers, gin, salads and nachos but it was all good and well priced. It was clear that we were... More

Really nice local pub. Very welcoming, good mix of regulars. Great food well cooked and very well priced and good beer. Sports on the big screen, hockey obviously a favourite. If you are in the hood check this out. I stopped off on walk around Vancouver and was perfect for a couple of hours doing nothing but drink and eat... More

We arrived for an early dinner at happy hour. Our hostess was very friendly and happlily explained the beers on tap. Her recommendations hit the spot. Alot of locals were enjoying some warmth by the fireplace and bar. The atmosphere was very welcoming and our dinner was great.

The food isn't the greatest. In fact I think I saw a big bag of no name brand fish near the kitchen but whatever. Beer selection is decent, smells like mid life crisis...or late life crisis. People are alright but servers can sometimes be rude or don't care. We requested someone else and we had a server named "Kaitlin", she... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
