There is a huge selection of beers on tap and pinball machines but otherwise its just a standard pub. Grabbed a late night bite, poutine, not the best I've had in Canada. Buzzy vibe. Best part of the pub was free play on the pinball...More

Very cool place, huge draft selection, good food, and very friendly staff. Excellent place to watch the games on one of the many TVs. Perfect mix of pub and sports bar.

Hope you are hungry. We had the Brisket Dip and it was delicious but large portion. It is $16 at lunchtime and easily fed two seniors. A 9oz IPA beer was $4.25. It was a little dark so we sat near the window. It says...More

The Lamplighter was one of my favorite restaurants I have been to. I loved the décor and their booths looking out on the streets of Gas town. The food was so delicious, really nice presentation with everything, even your coffee! Not a huge sports fan...More

Cool place for an extra drink after dinner at a nearby bistro. Amazing array of beers on tap, cool cocktails and live music in a beautiful older building (don't fail to look up and notice the ceilings). The Lamplighter has the kind of soulful atmosphere...More

We’d walked for miles in and around the city. We came through China town and a really suspect couple of blocks to get to Gastown. We were looking for a decent bar for an afternoon thirst quencher. The Lamplighter filled this criteria very well. I’d...More

So, we wanted to eat at another restaurant across the street, but our party didn't want to wait 45 minutes to be seated. We walked over to this restaurant and were seated right away (hint). The music was so loud, the waitress couldn't hear our...More

Fun bar with good food and service. A few TVs let me catch up on baseball while waiting for our orders. Extensive beer selection - the Scotch Ale is so good it was listed on the menu twice! Typical pub menu - the food was...More

A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and
stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of
being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many
plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell
the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's
history a more lively presence here than anywhere
else. Having been originally founded around a popular
worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of

Yup it was pretty quiet but we did not see any children when we visited. I would just send them an email to check. It’s on their website.

When we were there there were several different sporting events showing on different screens, so I'm sure that they would accommodate your request.

Description
Housed in the historic Dominion Grand Hotel (est. 1899) in Gastown, this pub was renovated in 2007 and retains its original tin-stamped ceilings, exposed brick walls, stained glass windows and railings. The rest of this storied room has been given a grand renovation, including a new sound system and jukebox, classic pub furniture and flatscreen TVs. A long-time favourite Vancouver watering hole, the Lamplighter is the city’s busiest pub for good reason: friendly service, honest local pub fare, a large selection of craft beer and cocktails, comprehensive sports programming, and talented DJs and live bands give the legendary Lamplighter its famed atmosphere.
