This place is a gem, if you are in the area drop in and check out the food. I had sandwich (fish) and a couple of their amazing salads.

This was an amazing experience that I would gladly do again. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout the cooking experience. The food we made was outstanding including the salmon wellington, Moroccan lamb and the caramel lemon semifreddo as well as all the other dishes. I would not hesitate doing any cooking class here and can't wait to do... More

I want to go here soon. But for a class. The place looks like a deli. I'm cool with it but would like to sample food in the afternoon. Have lots of local talent all around surprised the don't have a test kitchen for local establishments to use guinea pigs for all the local places to grab chefs. This should... More

Our company recently treated us to COOKING SCHOOL as a team building/fun event. What an amazing idea!! Wine was generously poured from the moment we arrived. Chef Takashi demonstrated 3 courses of Italian Fare. Handmade Dungeoness Crab stuffed Canneloni in a buttery tomato sauce, Grilled Pork Tenderloin with fingerling potatoes and haricots vert with fresh salsa verde, and finally Rosemary... More

I had friends from out of town and after a disappointing experience elsewhere we came dripping wet into The Dirty Apron looking for lunch. The food was delicious. My friend ordered the fig and proscuitto sandwich and said it was 'Heaven'. I have a sulphite allergy and the chef was AMAZING in helping me figure out what I could eat.... More

Really enjoyed the evening at "Friday Night Bites" cooking school/dinner at the Dirty Apron. The "other side" of this store/deli/cooking school offers the option where you watch a demo by a chef, then each cook yourself at a Wolf range before eating together; however, the "Friday Night Bites" option allows you to be part of a group of 18 who... A friend and I went to the Dirty Apron for a Thai cooking class last week and had an amazing experience learning all about the food prep and then the delicious tasting after each and every experiment, served with a glass of wine and a beautifully prepared table. The chef was excellent and explained everything in laymans terms and the... More

This cute little cafe is a great downtown lunch stop. Their ingredients are fresh and price is decent in comparison to the amount of food you get. I recommend checking out their daily features as they often have tasty gems such as homemade lasagna and kimchi+deepfried chicken baguette to name a few. The line moves fast so definitely doable to... More

This is a unique cooking class set up. Fabulously well equipped teaching facility with Wolf ovens and grills and very well organized cooking class. This particular night was a grilling class. So we did Steak Sliders, Flatbread Lobster tails, and grilled pineapple.

Staying in Gastown

Neighborhood Profile
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
