I have ordered a birthday cake twice from this place and have never been disappointed. It is one of the best cakes in the lower mainland. The size of the cake is a bit small considering the price that you pay for it but it will never stop me from buying it again.

The endless selection at Thomas Haas was mesmerizing. Making a choice here was difficult, to say the least. There will probably be a line up when you walk in but it moves fast as there are a lot of people working here, including Thomas himself. The double baked almond croissant is legendary here as well as the chocolate filled, pain... More

This is where to buy chocolate for those you care for, or for yourself. The finest of ingredients expertly fashioned into edible art. Not cheap but you, and they, are worth it.

This baker is the most talented on the earth. Picture perfect pastries. It is like guilt can't resist. Chocolates to cakes, everything for your taste buds. My favorites are the double baked chocolate croissant.

Only had a butter croissant and a h&c to go but I'll be back very soon to try some of the tempting sweet pastries and macaroons. Highly recommend visiting this spot!

Love the delicious baked goods! The double-baked croissants are to die for! Worth the drive AND the wait! Can be crowded and noisy, but for good reason.

Ever since The Chocolate Society, around the corner from my flat on Ebury Street, London closed, I've been searching the world for an outstanding hot chocolate. Paris - nope, Tokyo - nope, San Diego - nope, San Francisco - nope; some came close but nobody nailed it like Thomas Haas! For true chocolate lovers try their extra dark hot chocolate.... More

Not your children's chocolate milk. Not like hot chocolate in most places. Thick and rich and spicy, like the original Xocolatl, Aztec food of the gods. Eat it with a spoon. Yes the prices are high, but the quality is wonderful. All made from scratch with the best of ingredients. Usually packed with locals - hard to get a table,... More

Fabulous desserts; simply divine; I can eat them all. The only drawback is a tiny space and there was no available tables to enjoy the dessert and coffee. I bought chocolates and few desserts to take home.

Coffee was prepared perfectly. Baked goods were fresh and great accompaniments to the beverages offered.

Staying in Kitsilano

Neighborhood Profile
Kitsilano is one of Vancouver's most transformative neighbourhoods. With a long history of coffee culture and poetry readings, its days of flower children and buskers may be long-gone, but not without leaving their mark on the number of organic restaurants and fair-trade cafes in the area. At the centre of Kitsilano ("Kits" for short) the almost idyllic expanse of Kits Beach offers the opportunity for a relaxed afternoon of beach volleyball or sunbathing. Along with the beachfront, nearby public pools and trendy street-beats have driven up the homeowners prices, making it a haven for stylish home goods stores, from design and furniture, to supplies and appliances. The multitude of both families and public spaces also make it a happening neighbourhood in the summer, when festivals and fairs take to Kits' streets.
