As we had tried almost every restaurant on Main street there was still the french table to discover. It is almost hidden in trees yet the front patio is nice and right on the street. There are 4 parking spaces at the back, a bonus for this busy area. We had the crepes for brunch and were typical of what... More

So we couldn't get into A few other nearby restaurants so came here where it wasn't busy. Service slow, unfriendly and became outright rude when confronted owner. The bouillabaisse had a awful smell leaving everyone at table thinking there meal was off. No one ever came to check how meal was and we were waved off once seeking help- then... More

We have been there 3x. First time reviewed. Metered street parking only. Best to make reservation. Look for 2-for-1 coupon in local Entertainment Book. Medium priced. Friendly service but may take a long time to get the food on the table. Alcohol served. Washroom clean. Nicely decorated and the dishes/cups are not the cheap made-in-China variety. Limited menu but there... More

I give this place an average rating because the service is pretty good and the decor and vibe is nice, romantic, and cozy. I understand that this is a French restaurant, so ordering pasta was probably my mistake, but if it's on the menu, the kitchen should be able to prepare it with some level of proficiency. My companion had... More

We tried this restaurant on a whim for lunch and were glad we did. It was not overly expensive and served very traditional dishes. Do not expect a gourmet experience but more a bistro experience. Service was good but not overly friendly. We would consider having another meal here.

If you like french bistros, this place will not disappoint. Its ambiance is very traditional and the wine list has been chosen meticulously. In fact, the proprietor even has a burgandy from his family's winery in France. Speaking of the proprietor....he is clearly someone with a significant amount of restaurant pedigree. He visited with us for a bit, but not... More

We didn't feel that the meal lived up to the previous reviews. The duck was dry, sausage was bland and the mussels in the other dish tasted a bit "off". Not going to return to this restaurant unfortunately.

This little place is located in the Main Street area where there are now lots of great restaurants. This one used to be downtown but relocated here a couple of years ago. The food is always delicious, the service is excellent and the staff are French and knowledgeable. We have eaten here several times and never had a bad meal.... More

Four adults, lovely dinner. Three different entrees that all would be happy to eat again. Appetizers were amazing. Escargot was excellent. Corn chowder soup could possibly have been hotter but flavours were good. Spot prawns in season and excellent. So full but shared three desserts that were so good. Only one criticism. Our martins were less than they could or... More

I have visited this restaurant often, with company or solo and I am never disappointed. The food is great and the wine range is very good. The servers are courteous. 2 have been there for a long time and remember their customers. It's small but intimate. One might feel a bit squeezed in when it's super busy but I have... More

Description
Welcome to The French TableFormer Master Executive Chef Herve Martin is proud to present his newest eating establishment, The French Table. Nestled cosily in the Riley Park area on Main St & 23rd Ave, it’s a far away from the former Hermitage restaurant, which was a downtown staple on Robson Street for 24 years until last year. After the developer announced new plans, Herve patiently and rightfully re-located to an area that’s ripe for a surburban French cuisine in this up and coming, bustling area. The French Table still carries the tradition of its former self, especially with the outstanding first class servers, whom he successfully carried over but also has a modern flair. Clean lines, open room, first comes into mind when first stepping inside. Unlike the traditional white table cloths, Herve cleverly designed its logo under the glass tables bearing The French table signature, a very nice touch. Tables line the walls for best view of everything. You can select from a menu created by Master Chef Herve Martin and served in the traditional French style. The critically acclaimed wine list boasts one of the best selections of Burgundy wines in Vancouver and is highlighted with exclusive wines from the family winery in Chamilly, France.
