My mom and I found this place by accident and we were not dissappointed. Definitely one of the best breakfasts I've ever had and the coffee was great too (nothing worse than bad coffee at breakfast!) Service was great too and they had some special on where if you come by before a certain time, you get two meals for... More

My boyfriend and I sat down here (recommended in Lonely Planet) for a quick breakfast before heading to the airport. Their operation is great - booth seating, with a small bar as well, and an open kitchen so you can watch them operate. The service was great (a bit slow here and there, but nothing to fuss about) and the... More

Excellent salad, plenty of menu choices, in a developing area. Friendly prompt staff. Had a beer + salad for lunch, perfect combination.

Wow, for 40 bucks , this fed 4 of us to the max Food- 5 stars great presentation and flavor!!... More

We found this place looking for somewhere to eat before the Adele show at Roger's Arena. The area is very undesirable in my opinion with a make shift town across the street for the homeless and addicts all around etc. but this place is LOVELY! Amazing chicken dinner. Great mac and cheese. The desserts looked amazing but we were so... More

The Acme Cafe is located just East of the former Woodward's Department Store (an old Vancouver landmark). Parking is a challenge, be careful and be on the lookout for J-walkers who will simply dart out into traffic. I selected the mac & cheese for lunch which was more than enjoyable.

This morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast - frittatas, egg sandwiches, and a yogurt parfait - all were delicious with a healthy amount of food. All loval ingredients as well. Service was friendly and fast. Also, I loved the history of the place and the owners. We're going back tomorrow, what higher compliment can be paid.

This little gem offers great food and good service. Pretty much everything is made in house. The Mac and Cheese is incredible, and the baked goodies are fantastic. But the real story is breakfast (now served all day). Think 50's diner, but with healthy food. Give it a shot, you won't be sorry.

For you breakfast lovers or late risers, breakfast is served all day! The Baked Eggs Benny is different from the traditional Benny you've experienced. It's layered with all kinds of goodness! I have to say their Hollandaise sauce is simply To. Die. For. Being a bacon lover, I had mine with a side of bacon. To truly enjoy the experience....don't... More

It was a step back in time with arborite counters with metal trim and round swivel diner seats...and retro music. But the food was current. I ordered a veggie sandwich on a toasted ciabbata bun, that had such a delicious flavour. The pastries in the showcase were homemade and so 3 of us decided to share two pieces of pie... More

Staying in Gastown

Neighborhood Profile
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
