I was all alone on a business trip and stayed in the hotel next door, and just walked in and immediately felt welcome as the barmaid let me try all the local ales which meant I spent the rest of the night in there. The staff are great and you can have a laugh with them. Great food and beer,... More

Stopped in here on a Tuesday afternoon after seeing the Taco Tuesday sign out front. The place was eclectic, with plenty of seating and a good selection of drinks. Food menu was a little light, but the Tacos were worth stopping for.

During my stay at Ramada Downtown I was supposed to have breakfast in this place. It was filthy, no service whatsoever, no crockery, mugs, cutlery etc or worse of all no food. This was supposed to be a continental breakfast. Tables where piled high with dirty crockery and leftovers from some lucky tourists who got something to eat. After complaining... More

After a long plane ride we were hungry and staying at the Ramada so we went to the closest place. Food wasn't bad, beer was pretty good, staff was wonderful.

Provides breakfast for the Ramada Inn next door. American breakfast ok. Service indifferent. Located in a gloomy, old looking pub.

Jeanine has been in the service industry for approx 15 years and she is excellent, I always look forward to seeing her here. I love this bar, the food is great and its one of my local favourites, especially for happy hour.

Walked by the opened door, heard the Ramones playing. Drank excellent beer I'd never heard of. Food is exactly what I wanted all week If this place magically appeared in the town I live, I'd drink here more often than a responsible man of my age should.

I'll start by saying I/ we had a great breakfast at Morrissey's inc a great chat with an Irish lass who worked there. We gave her a generous tip ($7 on an $18 bill) on account of her service. That evening, we went to Morrissey's again for a few drinks and dinner. The service was poor at best and the... More

We ended up eating here on 3 different occasions and on each visit we had a great time be it apres ski or dinner. Very accommodating and friendly staff with a cool pub menu, Brisket sandwich was my partners top pick.

Ate breakfast every morning. Kinda dark and dingy, I wonder about cleanliness of this place. Front desk staff seems to give out free breakfast to people who complain. And boy do they complain a lot! Just sit in their lobby for a bit. Confusing smelly hallways, small elevator. Hotel needs a good coat of paint, and this pub also. Spend... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
