Wanted to try this place after I had tried their lemon tart at the QE Theater. Had read reviews that their signature bun was something to try. Came in Saturday morning at noon. They didn't have much of a selection of baked goods or lunch...More

I used to love this place, and still pop in for an occasional Cookies of Course cookie, but am disappointed immensely that they no longer have fair trade coffee. That seems to be the opposite of progress. It used to be my go to coffee...More

I already ate lunch when I got here so I thought it would be good to have coffee and a snack and I was right. This place is really great and while it's small inside there is a decent amount of space if you're eating...More

This Cafe is sweet and cool. The food good and coffee great at relatively low prices (you can leave here with under 8$ for lunch)

I stopped in here for a quick lunch and had some amazing veggie lasagna. I returned three times during my stay in Vancouver for salads and even stocked up on salads for my flight home. Really friendly staff as well. This little spot is a...More

We enjoyed two take out lunches on our recent trip to Vancouver. The wraps were quite tasty, as were the salads. The chocolate eclair was to die for. So yummy. The soups we had were hit and miss. What made this a great option for...More

Picked up take out breakfast for our family to bring back to the hotel. Even though the menu board was somewhat limited, they were happy to make custom breakfast sandwiches for us. Before 10:30 am they were also giving a free sweet roll with each...More

While not impressive in appearance, this little shop has different and tasty breakfast, lunch, and snack foods along with very good coffee, all at great prices. The atmosphere is comfortable and friendly. While staying at a nearby hotel, we enjoyed a variety of things from...More

I've been to this place a few times. It feels like a coffee shop, but they bake their buns so everything is always fresh. Among the baked goods, I've tried couple of different brioche buns, they were light and tasty. But my favourite Brie and...More

A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and
stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of
being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many
plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell
the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's
history a more lively presence here than anywhere
else. Having been originally founded around a popular
worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of

COFFEE, SANDWICHES AND BAKERYBonchaz Bakery Café owes much of its popularity to its namesake; a deliciously decadent Mexican-French pastry, with flavours including butter sea salt, banana walnut, or chocolate truffle; freshly baked before your eyes to crispy golden perfection. The boutique café also boasts a phenomenal French press coffee, appetizing and homemade affordable eats, including inspired soups, savoury sandwiches, and desserts to die for. Formerly a Farmer’s Market favorite, Bonchaz finally opened its first and only storefront in 2010 just steps from Waterfront station, Gastown, Simon Fraser University, and Vancouver Film School. With fast and friendly service, including catering and free WI-FI, as well as an ambiance that may best be described as laissez-faire, it is no surprise that Bonchaz enjoys a growing loyal fan base. Bon appetite!
