This was our second visit to The Flying Pig and again, it was a busy, happening place with a youthful vibe. We felt welcomed and the service was friendly and fast, despite not having a reservation, on a Tuesday night. They have a good selection of beers and wines and their dinner menu is eclectic and interesting. We had the... More

Upon arrival we were served delicious fresh banana bread, menu had a good variety of choices for a family of four. The portion size is on the large side and the food is fresh, delicious and cooked to perfection. The vanilla cake with chocolate icing is absolute heaven and a meal in itself... simplicity at its best. Value for money... More

Came in for a lunch date today, and a woman seated beside us was giving the waiter a hard time about some silly little thing, so I thought I'd come tell you that I had the best beef stroganoff I have ever had, and that the service was also fantastic. I will definitely be coming back here.

We are visiting Vancouver during the little-known (outside BC) Family Day holiday and the front desk at our also brilliant hotel (l'Hermitage, see separate review) had the wonderful idea of recommending the Flying Pig. The brunch menu was extensive and delicious and was topped by the fantastic vanilla cake with chocolate icing, whose very basic description does not do justice... More

The menu is the same at all three locations, and we like it a lot. Both the Yaletown and Olympic Village locations are much nicer rooms, though, and this one was also quite draughty at our table near the door (we had originally been seated at a high-top, but asked to be reseated).

Ate dinner here while on business. Had an absolute blast. Great food (we did veal, seafood and short ribs), great sides and nice-sized drinks made for a fun evening. Not the easiest place to get to but totally worth it.

We were staying at the Opus, and they recommended The Fly Pig. We were not disappointed. We had an excellent waitress, and the food and atmosphere were great!

So the place is busy because the food is good (not stellar but good nonetheless) but really I guess we got the bad server, although I don't remember her name. She was absent most of the time and was even rude at one point, point blank saying to one of the members of our group with an accent "I can't... More

Staying in Yaletown & False Creek North

Neighborhood Profile
Yaletown & False Creek North
Yaletown has risen from the ashes of its rough-and-tumble industrial past into one of Vancouver's new chicest neighbourhoods. The place responsible for originating of the phrase 'skid row' might not call to mind independently-owned boutiques and terraced cafes, but having swallowed the waterfront lines of False Creek North, the resulting amalgamation transformed the area into an elegant, stylish hotspot with a view. Its youthful vibe owes to the many young families and young professionals who live there, bolstering nightlife and restaurant variety along its cobbled streets. It is the flagship neighbourhood for modern revitalization, and the It-Spot for boutique hotels and modish eats.
