My husband and I recently ate there on our early August trip to Vancouver BC. It was busy but we were quickly seated at a bar looking out on the sidewalk. I had the "Wild Seafood Pappardelle" while my husband choose the Salmon Special of the evening. His salmon was excellent. The pappardelle was delicious, however it could have been... More

I finally went to this restaurant as I had heard so much about it. It was during their 'Appy Hour' with appetizers on specials, and a couple of house wines and beer. I ordered the Truffle 4-Cheese Macaroni, which was pretty bland, almost tasteless. I also ordered the mussles, which was much more savoury and not bad. The white wine... More

As recommended by Lonely Planet, we visited the Flying Pig with my father to celebrate his 70th birthday. I cannot express how welcoming, friendly, and helpful the staff were. In the heatwave our water glasses were never empty, the food was incredible (especially the roast chicken) and cooked to perfection. To top off this wonderful experience, the staff brought my... Intrigued by the name and the menu I took two friends to The Flying Pig. Even pretty early on a Thursday it was humming. I had a warm greeting and got a table right away. Our server was Kate, a real gem, who made the evening really special. We ordered a shared plate of pork with mashed potatoes and salmon.... More

We went to Flying Pig for a late dinner, about at 11 pm; despite that, we have been warmly received and had a really excellent dinner; all seafood! Wild salmon, halibut, mussels and smoked fish plate. Our waiter was friendly and willing to share suggestions and opinions on the dishes, and offered to taste several white wines before choosing what... More

Food was lovely, ordered Caesar salad, mac cheese, sprouts & broccoli gratin. Gratin was a bit watery. Sarah our server was rushing us and even took the fork away before we had finished!

My daughter and I had dinner here last night..no reservation for a Thursday night but were seated right away with choice of spots. Love the interior..it's in an old building in Yaletown. Very attentive service and nice touch with warm bread before the meal arrived. Our meals took only ten minutes to arrive which was great as we had a... More

A very disappointing start to our holiday in Vancouver. Having seen some excellent reviews of this place, we gave it a go. Very tasteless squid, equally tasteless fish and very pedestrian cooking throughout - poor quality pasta with a very over-creamy sauce. Didn't enjoy very much at all.

We all enjoyed our dinners here. The fresh salmon with risotto was particularly delicious. The mixed seafood with pasta came in a delicious sauce, but the dish could have used more seafood. The steaks were very good.

Enjoyed everything about this - the cocktails, the menu, the food (try the fried Brussels sprouts!), the genuinely friendly service, and the vibe.

Staying in Yaletown & False Creek North

Neighborhood Profile
Yaletown & False Creek North
Yaletown has risen from the ashes of its rough-and-tumble industrial past into one of Vancouver's new chicest neighbourhoods. The place responsible for originating of the phrase 'skid row' might not call to mind independently-owned boutiques and terraced cafes, but having swallowed the waterfront lines of False Creek North, the resulting amalgamation transformed the area into an elegant, stylish hotspot with a view. Its youthful vibe owes to the many young families and young professionals who live there, bolstering nightlife and restaurant variety along its cobbled streets. It is the flagship neighbourhood for modern revitalization, and the It-Spot for boutique hotels and modish eats.
