We stayed at Hotel Le Soleil and made dinner reservations at the Copper Chimney thinking the restaurant would be complementary to the fine hotel. Wrong! To begin with, despite making a reservation 12 days in advance, somehow they were not expecting us. We cooled our heels in the hotel lobby for 20 minutes. The restaurant felt like a bar -... More

We were fortunate to have had breakfast twice and dinner once here as we stayed in the hotel. The full American breakfast was fantastic and a great way to set up our days of seeing the sights of Vancouver. For $23 the breakfast was more than we could eat. For dinner we were impressed with an Indian twist to the... More

We went for the "Indian Fusion" cusine, only to find 5 mains on the menu featured 'canadian curry'. A disappointment tosay the least, but the wine list was adequate, beer fresh, and the food tasted & presented ok. I'm sure there are much better quality indian resturants in Vancouver. This sadly is not one of them.

If you like tradition but enjoy a contemporary culinary twist, crave Indian spices but have a taste for a Western meal, the Copper Chimney is a perfect choice of a dining venue! Surprisingly good live music adds to the sense of an occasion in the old-fashioned styled interior of the restaurant attached to the Hotel Soleil. Usually I do not... More

I am sure this was our worse EI food ever and way too expensive. My lamb must have been prepared a week ahead in an awful sauce. Chicken tandoory was dry and we didn't dare to eat the vegie dish.

We had breakfast here as we were guests of the hotel. The food is hearty with large serving sizes. Perfect for the cool climate. Recommend the French toast....huge!

Stopped in for breakfast and what a pleasant surprise. The ambience is incredible and the menu had a nice offering of choices. Service was great and the portions sizable. Definitely worth going to again.

As my wife and I were walking around Vancouver we found this quaint little restaurant. We enjoyed it so much we ate two dinners and a breakfast there. The waitstaff could not have been any more attentive. With the exchange rate the prices were very reasonable.

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
