Had the summer WestCoast set on a week day, so the restaurant was not full. The server was very friendly and recommended a number of tea based on my preference. The highlight was the seafood which was fresh and tasteful. The dessert was good too. Only recommendation for the set is that it would be even better to have a... More

My hubby & I took another couple to tea, in celebration of their birthdays. We each had the 'traditional' which included very tasty scones, finger sandwiches, various savouries and sweets. I highly recommend this location. The food and tea served were delicious, the service was without fault (impeccable and unobtrusive and helpful where waranted). We are thinking of taking another... Enjoyed the traditional High tea served here, although there were other options to choose from. The savoury's were the best I have had at high tea.Amazing variety of teas to choose from and the service was elegant. Location is central downtown but tucked away as the storefront is unasuming and would walk right by and not known it was here.

Thank you for your lovely review and kind words. You are right about our unassuming storefront, but that's about to all change soon in the next few months as we become the first TWG Tea Retail Boutique and Tea Salon in Canada! Stay tuned for more exciting news about our upcoming launch! More

Exquisite High Tea service in a lovely setting made special by the wonderful, well versed Michael, our waiter. We loved every piece of food, savory and sweet. The French Earl Grey is divine. Food presentation was impeccable. Tom, the manager, went to each table to thank them for their patronage, so gracious a gesture. We had chosen the Fairmont initially... More

This restaurant is everything one looks for when having high tea. The service is courteous and impeccable without being obtrusive. The food is delectable. Although we chose the traditional high tea, I appreciated the fact that there are two other choices - the vogue and Sakura tea services. (Reasons to go back and try something different.) The traditional tea service... More

Tea was delicious with a very large variety of teas, service was great, food delicious, but very small amounts. Food presentation was exquisite. A little pricey, but wonderful.

We made reservations weeks in advance for the day before mother's day. We sat at our table for 25 minutes before we were even acknowledged by our server, we then waited 40 minutes before we received our pre-ordered high tea. The menu offers a lot of selection for green tea but a very limited selection of black teas. The high... More

We went here after a visit to the Vancouver Art Gallery. This is a high end establishment, not a neighborhood kind of tea house. That said, the teas were exquisite, and a much needed pick me up for the day. We had the small sandwich platter, which was quite good. had a good giggle with the $280 pot of tea... More

For our special February date my husband lovingly treated me to the 'Valentine's Tea' at the Urban Tea Merchant. The food was well prepared but they missed serving the 2nd portion of the chicken salad. Didn't care for the fig & lettuce sandwich. But most disappointing was the tea I ordered. It was hot water with no expected flavour. My... More

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
