though it had been delightful, Le Parisien no longer exists, bu it has found a wonderful replacement in, at the same spot, Left Bank

As the first officially French restaurant that I've been to, I'm nothing less than impressed by the food they served. The onion soup was amazing to the very last drop accompanied by a wonderful foie gras on toast for a starter. The duck confit was very pleasing as well but some items on the menu didn't seem to belong such... More

The food was just OK, nothing special, I could have made it at home. Expensive and mediocre. Not much in the way of atmosphere either.

The food was amazing, the service very good. This place actually has a decent beer selection as well as the obligatory wine cellar.

Very popular local restaurant in this part of town. Got the last table for 2. Nice rolls to start while we checked the menu. My wife had Roasted Pork Tenderloin which was perfect. I had the duck confit cassoulet - also perfect. Small to average helpings but just what we wanted. Price was surprisingly economic. We enjoyed a shared desert... More

This was my first time having brunch at Le Parisien and I was really impressed by the quality. I had the duck eggs Benedict and they were amazing. I will go back for brunch many more times.

Tripadvisees, you may read reviews of the Cafe de Paris, Bistro de Paris, and Le Parisien. They're all the same place, probably different management eras, but thankfully as the name changes the important part of the experience remains the same. This is about as French Bistro as you can get in Vancouver. Enjoy.

Always wanted to go and enjoy the authentic French bistro experience. Disappointed on entrance at tired, very un-French decor and lack-lustre greeting. Lack-luster ambience - no catchy French accordion music, red gingham curtains, paintings of Paris on the walls etc. And gangway to kitchens and back door open and draughty without privy curtain. Thankfully, menu is authentic and includes French... More

The service was charming, the beet salad delicious. But the entrees took forever (and there were no orders ahead of ours). When they arrived, we found boulliabase bland, presentation pathetic. My tiny portion of mushroom/spinach ravioli was almost laughable except I was dismayed. A few thin little raviolis, no garnish, just a half-ladle-full of pasta bits under some carrot sauce,... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
