Bar staff here know what they're doing they take a lot of care and crafting excellent and unique cocktails. I stop by here all wondering around the Waterfront during a short stay in Vancouver. While the drinks were fantastic the food was good but left a little to be desired. I had the burger and a beef carpaccio, the carpaccio... More

Chose restaurant at random as it was open late and we were jet lagged. Service was great. Food interesting delicious and good quality. Normal portion sizes rather then over the top massive North American ones. Loved he octopus and the desserts. Fabulous cocktails. Would definitely go back.

My wife is allergic to mustard and peppers and nearly everything has one or the other in there. They did however try very hard to find something for her to eat and we had an OK evening, the staff were very helpful but the menu doesn't really suit my wife but i guess if you like mustard with everything it... Being a bartender myself, I tend to be quite critical of the service of other establishments. The pourhouse however, far exceeded my expectations in both service and quality of the food and drink. The only reason I've not given it a 5/5 is because the portions are slightly smaller than I would have liked. But please don't let that stop... More

Visited on a Sunday evening. Live band playing country and blues contributed to a chilled atmosphere. Quality of food is good - good range of starters in particular. Found Txacoli wine for the first time outside Bilbao which was a bonus. Bit on the pricey side but overall worth it !

We spent our last evening in Vancouver, B.C. having dinner and drinks at the Pourhouse in Gastown, We tried the Scottish Egg and the Cauliflower Steak. Both were so unique and delicous. For dessert (although we did not need it) we had the Creme Brûlée. This was the best EVER. Our waitress was so knowledgeable and gracious and took her... More

Staying in Gastown

Neighborhood Profile
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
