We spent our last evening in Vancouver, B.C. having dinner and drinks at the Pourhouse in Gastown, We tried the Scottish Egg and the Cauliflower Steak. Both were so unique and delicous. For dessert (although we did not need it) we had the Creme Brûlée. This was the best EVER. Our waitress was so knowledgeable and gracious and took her... More

Although a bit dark inside, the afmosphere is very good! Very nice music and staff and good food. Do visit the place, it is worth it.

My husband and I ended up at the Pourhouse for dinner on a Wednesday evening. The restaurant was packed, the vibe was lively, and the food was delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant for a lively and fun evening.

Had some beautiful cocktails and we were looking forward to trying dessert but our server kind of forgot about us. I'm sure that is a one off but I obviously can't give a five star rating as a result. Really nice atmosphere.

It is my go to place in Vancouver for eats and cocktails. They have a great selection of Whisky, Vodka, Gin and Bourbon. The bartenders are very knowledgeable and attentive. You must sit at the wood if you can to watch then create! The food is top notch. I love the pork and fennel scotch eggs and the burgers. Appies... More

I must admit we chose this place by its look but we were not disappointed by the food. I had the best brisket ever. The cocktails were pretty good too. It's a beautiful place for a romantic dinner or just sitting at the bar.

Which was amazing. Just as good as home (the UK). But this was just the start. The servings here are made for sharing. So when in Rome... The food was delicious. Rigatoni with braised beef cheeks, and beef brisket with potato puree. Devine. The Hawk Crest Cabernet Sauvignon was the perfect drop to accompany it.

Had a quite, informal dinner here - we all had burgers and brew. Good service for a bar - didn't have to flag them down too often and good size burgers. Nice atmosphere with rustic charm. Not bad for the tour trap area of Gastown.

Staying in Gastown

Neighborhood Profile
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
