La Quercia has become our family's favourite place for top notch Italian food in Vancouver. The tasting menu, or Family dinner, is a fantastic way to sample many different dishes in one sitting. On our recent visit, the server helped us with our wine selection, after listening to our like,s she recommended an Italian wine we never heard of and... More

We found the restaurant to be very expensive and the quality of the food substandard! The menu selection was very limited and if you are in a group you are forced to have the set menu. They do not cater to vegetarians and most of their dishes are high in fat pork dishes or cheap pasta with no choices !!! Dinner... More

La Quercia was recommended to us and we were very happy with our dinner there. It is a small and charming restaurant, reservations are either required or strongly suggested. I believe they have two dinner seatings, 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm. They are closed on Mondays. The service was very attentive. Since I am also Italian, we were able to... More

I must say that me and two of my friends went out to dinner last Thursday evening with high expectations... The service...( by an " experienced " Italian born waiter )...was perfunctory and obnoxiously condescending. When I made the reservation, I mentioned that I am a celiac, and the lady who took it said that it posed no problem and... More

We loved the lower cost tasting menu. And the wine list was exceptional. The asparagus panna cotta, the parmesan soufflé was so light and delicate, the bone marrow dish was wonder as was the amazing dessert. Some dishes among the seven in the lower cost tasting menu were ordinary[2] but the others were truly wonderful. The wine list is very... More

A negative experience has motivated me to write a review. The head server was obnoxious and not service oriented. I did not want to eat pasta, but wanted to try the Bolognese sauce. I asked to have just some Bolognese sauce. This server refused to bring me any sauce, and claimed that they cannot serve the sauce without the pasta.... More

We had a very good business dinner at La Quercia this weekend. The salad, pasta and porchetta were excellent. The service was terrible, very rude server dismissing a simple question about gluten free pasta from my wife who could not eat regular pasta. There are some fantastic Italian restaurants in Vancouver where the food is on par and the servers... More

Felt extremely uncomfortable in this very narcissistic place, very pretentious for relaxed atmosphere Vancouver. Will not return here again, and you should consider that you can do better than this place.

I've reviewed this before, and am reluctant to share my love for this restaurant because it will bring others. Alas Adam & Karen should be recognized for their food and dining experience. We recently ate there on a Wednesday evening and had our best meal yet. A la famiglia dinner included pork belly cooked to perfection, pasta that was best... More

We shared an appie, which was flavourful though very small, and then two entrees: arrabiatta penne and the sea bass. Both spiced well and served very simply...but over-priced!! $34.00 for the sea bass which was accompanied by a slice of baked lemon and a side of zucchini...... Overall a disappointing experience. .....

Staying in Kitsilano

Neighborhood Profile
Kitsilano
Kitsilano is one of Vancouver's most transformative neighbourhoods. With a long history of coffee culture and poetry readings, its days of flower children and buskers may be long-gone, but not without leaving their mark on the number of organic restaurants and fair-trade cafes in the area. At the centre of Kitsilano ("Kits" for short) the almost idyllic expanse of Kits Beach offers the opportunity for a relaxed afternoon of beach volleyball or sunbathing. Along with the beachfront, nearby public pools and trendy street-beats have driven up the homeowners prices, making it a haven for stylish home goods stores, from design and furniture, to supplies and appliances. The multitude of both families and public spaces also make it a happening neighbourhood in the summer, when festivals and fairs take to Kits' streets.
