I really enjoyed our sushi meal at Miku. The way they use the charcoal on the nigiri and sashimi left us wanting more. We really enjoyed our first visit here and plan to come again often in the future. PS Please offer real wasabi! The real stuff is worth the $$$ and tastes so much better than paste.

Had a nice lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Sat at the bar and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. It took a little while for the entrees to come out, and after traveling all day we scarfed them down! The calamari was fresh and crispy with a nice light sauce. The salmon sushi was melt-in-your-mouth good. A little expensive... More

Not only do you have a fantastic view of the bay, you have some amazing sushi chefs bringing you fresh and tasty sushi. Everything I ordered was delicious, and surprisingly filling. The sake was the cherry on top, great selection. This has become one of my favorite sushi places in Vancouver.

The oshi sushi is from heaven. The fish melts in your mouth. Each piece has its own character! The rice wins my heart, You can feel the individual rice particle and yet it cooks to the perfect softness. Do not ruin I order a tasting menu plus some oyster shot. Each course to the tasting menu is a pleasant surprise... More

We experienced this restaurant during our recent visit to Vancouver, based on a friend's recommendation. Oh my.... We were fortunate to have outdoor seating on a stunningly beautiful evening. The waiter was knowledgeable, professional, and accommodating. He gave a perfect, succinct, description of the menu, pointing out those details which make Miku unique. DO NOT leave there without trying Aburi... More

Best sushi I ever had. Salmon oshi sushi is phenomenal. Doesn't need any soy or anything, the sauce is already on it. Perfect with the little jalapeño slice, adds the right level of heat. Go get some! I sat at the Bar, service is friendly and the waiter even took the time to talk to me about the sushi itself.

One of my faves in Vancouver. Their soba pepperoni tastes great at lunch but at supper they add extra seafood. Tofu salad is still beautifully presented and tastes yummy. We ordered the sashimi beautifully presented and very fresh seafood. Dessert remain great ! We were informed the green tea opera cake takes 3 days to make. Service remains very attentative.... More

I have been going to this place for years. I discovered it when it was still at its old location. The location was much smaller and as miku became more and more popular it was evident they needed a larger space. The new location is across from the Vancouver convention centre (the old aqua riva space I believe). It has... More

We had a bit of a wait for the perfect seat by the window overlooking harbour but it was worth it! Waited at the bar for an hour but staff were spectacular at attention to detail and service! Tried the sake sampler, interesting! Calamari was fantastic and their Miku Zen sampler platter for lunch was perfect! A definite must!

Description
We specialize in Aburi, or flamed-seared sushi, which was developed nearly a century ago in Japan. The act of applying fire directly and lightly sear is known to enhance the natural flavors of the fish. Miku owner, Seigo Nakamura, innovated the Aburi concept by creating speciality sauces, using non-traditional Japanese ingredients, to complement the unique taste properties of each fish. Miku Restaurant is within walking distance from the Pan Pacific Hotel, Canada Place, Trade & Exhibition Centre, IMAX Theatre, Cruise Ship Terminals and Sea Bus. If shopping downtown, join us for lunch and re-energize. It's entrance is at the corner of Howe Street and Canada Place Way, overlooking the east cruiseship terminal at Canada Place.

Staying in Gastown

Neighborhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
