I went to Cibo for dinner on a recent trip to Vancouver. I met some business associates there for dinner. The restaurant is attached to the La Moda hotel. It's beautifully decorated restaurant. They have a fantastic cocktails and wine menu. I had the Halibut which was brought in fresh that day. It was very good, very fresh but having... More

We ate breakfast there for 4 days. It was included in the price of our hotel - Moda Hotel. The breakfasts were delicious. They definitely have an Italian flair. The service was great too!

We arrived promptly at 12 for our business lunch, and found the place occupied by about 6 patrons and an ad hoc movie crew (?) However, there was no waitress or any employee for that matter in sight for at least 10-15 minutes. We each ordered the Italian Broda soup, and a main. Sounds easy, right? Wrong. The soup arrived... It was cold and wet outside so we decided to eat dinner in the hotel. Waiter was very welcoming and friendly. Meal arrived in good time and was tasty. The servings were not huge but the food was rich and delicious. A good wine list was available and we enjoyed a lovely bottle of French chardonnay and a port after... More

Went here for breakfast a few weeks back and enjoyed the ambiance and the service. The food looked and tasted good, but lacked in colour.

I made my small ceremony in the Madonna room, a private room in Cibo. I loved! The decoration in the room is modern and clean. They had 3 options of menu to choose. The service was great. They gave us privacy during the ceremony, didn't interrupt at all. When it finished the service was perfect and the food excellent. We... More

Celebrated a birthday for a friend here. Loved the ambience for some great wine and appies. Spent the evening with a few friends and loved every minute of it! The servers were quite attentive and took care of everyone. Would go back.

The ambience is great. Very clean. Price is affordable. What I did not like at all was the amount of food and the construction of it. When you go to a trattoria you want to have at least least an amount of food that you do not feel hungry after. We had to have a nice snack afterwards. The food... More

The portion sizes there were laughable for a trattoria and their gnocchi was not gnocchi at all, it was polenta with a cheese sauce

The title pretty much well summarizes our sentiments. Service was pokey which I suppose was fine seeing we were in no hurry. For the price we paid, though, we were expecting more bang for our buck. The two dishes were more like appetizers. Ordered the parpadelle with braised rabbit and there was hardly any rabbit. The sea bass was bland,... More

Staying in Granville Street

Neighborhood Profile
Granville Street
Granville Street spans many, multiple city blocks and has become so fastidiously known for its nightclubs and watering holes that it's fondly nicknamed the city's 'Entertainment District.' Friday and Saturday nights are the most popular and lively, with young revelers taking to the streets in droves and keeping the party going until late. Granville Street, being mostly open to pedestrian-only traffic, has a healthy social life along its main thoroughfares, even outside of its cafes and pubs, spilling onto the sidewalks. The locals are chatty, the shops at its expansive Pacific Centre Mall are trendy, and the whole area seems to be on a sugar rush: in a good way. Exuberance and camaraderie classify this neighbourhood.
