If you want high-quality homemade stock, demi-glaze, sauces etc. then this is your place! Sure you can make it all yourself but life doesn't usually allow us the time. So if 'homemade' goodness is what you are looking for this is the place to get it!

Only a few soups selections at this place on the day that we visited, but we had a serving of each of them and shared them each. All of these soups were hearty and tasty. Staff was very friendly, we were welcomed to try the soup before purchasing. This was the opening course of my family's all-day food crawl through Granville... More

In the Granville Public Market is a stall that makes soup, just soup, like on Seinfeld without the soup nazi. It was very good with fresh ingrediants.

Staff was courteous, helpful and genuine. I had the Caldo verde- chorizo and veg. Soup was delicious, and you taste the ingredients. Not overpowered by salt or spices. Loved every moment of it. 👍

If you don't mind braving the Granville Island Parking and Crowds, you'll be pleased to enjoy Stock Market. They provide lots of Stocks and soups both frozen to take home and fresh that you can enjoy right away. The staff are friendly. Lines can be long, but everything is tasty. Good quality ingredients...Good luck and enjoy!

Soups made the old fashioned way from basic stock. Excellent, nutritious soups that come with a chunk of good bread. Service is great.

Great soups and prices are somewhat decent. Comes with good bread. I prefer the foccacia. Good place, just good luck finding a table.

Love this place! Four soups on offer, plus a big hunk of bread, take it out and enjoy the sunshine and some music, or sit inside and soak in the ambiance of the Public Market. Vegetarian Borscht was fantastic. While there, pick up a couple 1/2 liters of bone broth for making your own soup at home.

My wife was feeling ill and were went to this place for healthy and fresh soup. We were not disappointed. A variety of fresh made soups to eat on site or packages to take away. the soup was served with delicious bread. Saly content seemed quite low to our taste which is a bonus.

Staying in Granville Island & Fairview

Neighborhood Profile
Granville Island & Fairview
One of the favoured neighbourhoods for a day out, Granville Island's packed theatres and art studios, hobby shops and book stores, restaurants and bars, all offer a plethora of activities and entertainment options, leaving no one bored. The highlight of the area is the Fisherman's Wharf, where the seagulls overhead and the smell of the sea invigorate its many visitors, some of who are there to shop the fresh wares at the public market, and others of whom have arrived to take in the eclectic atmosphere. A popular seafood destination, and Vancouver's leading spot for improv and amateur theatre, Granville Island is an indulgent, welcoming entertainment centre in any season or time of day.
