We've been here a few times and my only complaint is how long it takes to get in. I guess that's what happens with good service and great food! We generally try to come here for brunch during the week as the wait list is much shorter then during the weekend. A must try for sure!

Long queue ? Ok, It really exists and might (or must) disappoint many people ! A good advice is that you´ll spend more time inside waiting for your order, especially on weekends. However, after a long wait your delight will start. Flatbread + mascarpone or maybe a Frittatta can be the motivation to endure. Be patient and never give up... More

Sought this place out as it features in the book "where chefs eat". On my own so took a table at the bar. Ordered a juice and the daily special ice-cream waffle, although the server advised he wasn't that impressed by them and id be better having a waffle with ice-cream on the side. Took the advice and also had... More

Hi Sheela Firstly, thanks for taking the time to provide feedback. It is very important to us and I am grateful for it as it has allowed me to make positive changes over our 8 years. The waffle ice cream sandwiches were an experiment and part of a charity initiative called Mealshare we are involved in. If they were not... More

we had a very poor experience of Medina and in fact did not eat there at all. We joined the queue outside last Saturday and patiently waited as slowly it moved towards the door. We assumed that the host would take our name as we got closer. However, we discovered after about 30 minutes that the position in the queue... More

Firstly, thanks for taking the time to provide feedback. It is very important to us and I am grateful for it. I am sorry you did not inquire first as our waitlist policy is clearly stated on our entrance window and in addition it is our mandate to come outside every 5-10 minutes to ensure if there is a queue... This is a fantastic breakfast and brunch place with outstanding waffles. If you don't get there early, you may have a fairly lengthy wait, but it is worth it.

This has evidently become the classic brunch place in downtown Vancouver, and after visiting it this morning, we understand why. You will probably have to wait in a line to get in--we were told there'd be a 20 minute wait, but after 5 minutes or so we were offered two places at the counter, which we immediately accepted (there are... Hard to rate this place, we visited 3 times before plucking up the courage to wait for an hour for a table. The ambiance, decor and so on was good but what really makes a place is food and service. Now, the food was good, don't get me wrong, but I am not sure it was worth 3 days wait.... More

Main course is a bit sophisticated, but the waffles are wonderful, very tasty, love their mix berries compose. Worth the wait!

... this seems to have become an unwritten rule in this town. Somehow a policy of not taking reservations became synonymous with a place to be. So, you see many establishments treating us like cattle. And we go back for more. We waited for over an hour to eat! Was the food good? Yes, it was. I think so at... More

The website tells the story and it lives up to expectations in every way. Great food, great atmosphere and great service. Be sure to get there for 8.30am if you don't want to queue for ages. We rocked up on day one around 10am and there was a 1hour 40 wait so returned the next day. Well worth the wait.... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
