food not enough。small place, asking for degree of spiciness for ordered food. Taste is okay, but not a lunch comb does not provide enough food to feed me. The soup comes with the comb uses a very small cup.

We keep coming here with our family of 4 and love it. We've tried quite a few of their dishes and we have always enjoyed them. The atmosphere is quiet unlike most restaurants in Vancouver that play loud music and have patrons sit like sardines. Ban Wasana is not trying to be hip and trendy and we like this. Best... More

We had take-out last night from Baan Wasana, and we have had much better Thai food in Vancouver. The rice and spring rolls were good as was the chicken satay (nice touch they were wrapped in foil). However, when ordering we were asked how we like our spicing for the pad thai and basil chicken and replied mild. We all... More

I have been there a few times, for lunch, with various friends. The food has always been consistently good. Most dishes are served with a sizable portion of fluffy white rice.

Whenever my wife and I are in Vancouver we make it a point to eat at Baan Wasana. As ethical vegans we are impressed with the number of incredibly tasty vegan options the restaurant offers. And the Thai eggplant is to die for!!! We have traveled the world trying to find a better prepared eggplant and so far Baan Wasana... More

Excellent service...lovely decor...decent-sized portions, but nothing to brag about with the food. The pad thai was lees than ordinary: noodles with little flavor and not enough other stuff. Green papaya salad...the same: just not enough flavor. Tom yum soup was better. I have eaten at many Thai restaurants. This chef is below average.

No sense of loyalty and keeping their long time customers. I am a good person who is forgiving. On more than one occasion they have made mistakes in our order. Their food is bland and cooking skills are sub par. I've felt sick often after eating their food. Save your money and stomachs and go elsewhere. « Read less

This is a delightful little restaurant hidden on West 41st Avenue - the decor is charming and the place is very clean. The staff is friendly and it was obvious that many people living nearby frequent the restaurant on a regular basis as many were greeted by name. The choice of luncheon specials is amazing and all are served with... More

Cozy family run restaurant that serves probably the best Northern Thai cuisine in Vancouver. The preparation base for each of the curries is distinct, unlike many other restaurants where the red, green and yellow curries all taste fairly similar. The dry curries are also excellent, as is the Swimming Rama. Dessert, too, whilst limited in choice, is also prepared meticulously.

I have had a lot of Thai food in Thailand and around the world and the Pad Thai here was strictly average or a bit below. The green curry was also not up to snuff. Generally, in Vancouver, there are way too many better restaurants, although perhaps not in the centre of Kerrisdale.

Staying in Kerrisdale

Neighborhood Profile
Kerrisdale is Vancouver's laid-back shopping district. In contrast to Robson Street, there is more on offer, at more competitive pricing and a slower pace. Called "The Village" colloquially, over 200 storefronts and one-off shops crowd its streets with products and services. It is set in a comparatively sleepy part of town, with tasteful homes and tree-lined walks. Many of its buildings are listed on the Heritage registry, making it a wonderful place to amble and take in the visual history. Moreover, Kerrisdale's healthy consumer culture is especially apt for those interested in culinary, specialty, or children's shops, boasting more of these than anywhere else, meaning that it's a busy spot for families and hobbyists on the weekends.
