Prompt service and great food.

A little hidden, this restaurant overlooks Burrard Street from the first floor - you have to go up some stairs next door to the Hermes store. However, it's worth making the effort - the staff are friendly and attentive and the food is great. The servings are generous - we only needed one course... read more

Everything we had was very tasty, although portions are a bit smaller than I'd like. The service was friendly and unassuming. The room is a little bright for my tastes, at least for dinner. The room lacks ambience, so not great for romantic dinners. I'd go back, though.

Sweet little restaurant just a block away from our hotel set one level above the street. We were graciously greeted. I have a lot of food allergies and they were very accommodating and I had a delicious halibut in coconut curry dinner. I'd wanted vegetables and they added some seasonal veggies to my curry with no extra cost. Dessert was... More

This restaurant is on the 2nd level. Great food, great service. We were sorry that we were full and could not eat more! Good wine list as well. We enjoyed the Luigi Bosca malbec with our Saag Paneer, Naan bread, Veggie Pakora, Papadoms, Tandoori Chicken and an array of little dips - mango chutney, raita, and tamarind sauce. Service was... Went there with a group for New Years Eve. Food was excellent for both adults and the kids. Top service. Would definitely go back

The food and the service were both quite good at this restaurant. It is not flashy but it is a solid place to enjoy Indian food in downtown Vancouver.

The restaurant was recommended and did not disappoint as the quality of food and dishes were a mix of unique tastes and spices. Garlic Naan bread along with rice was ordered to accompany the Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Chettinad. The Chicken Chettinad was one of the most unique blends of taste as it combines per the restaurant 27 different... More

Spent dinner on Boxing Day with family last night. Had average expectation as food in downtown is usually more expensive and average quality. But this place have very good Indian food (outside of India) compare to places I went to in Toronto, US (various cities), UK, Asia (HK, Singapore, ...). Must try to Lamb Tikka, they have very good spices.... More

The good reviews are not hypes. This restaurant has got a lovely location, Excellent food and brilliant service. The spices aren't lavished in the dishes like most of the North Indian restaurants do. They have perfect and unique blend that gives right taste. No wonder this place is being highly recommended.

We were in Vancouver for a conference and we were walking down the street looking for a place to eat. We had Indian food on our minds when we spied the Salam Bombay above the street. It's on the second floor, as are a number of other restaurants in the area and we were looking up when we spied the... More

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
