Buffet was average, no great shakes, standard indian fare - 2-3 veg and non-veg curries, tandoori chicken, rice, 1 dessert. Some members of my group went for dinner and said that dinner food was much much better than buffet.

This place was recommended by our hotel not far from canada place. Very quick efficient service. Good menu selection vegetarian and meat dishes. Price was average $20-30 for mains. Upstairs restaurant but has lift facilities. Enjoyable view, modern decor throughout. Was delicious, would definitely go again.

The food at this restaurant is delicious! The service is great and it is a beautiful restaurant. The food is not extremely hot, therefore it is just right for the non-Indian palate. If you want it hotter you can always ask them and they will accommodate to your taste. If you are looking for a good Indian restaurant in the... More

Whilst on a culinary/hiking tour de force of Vancouver, we had dinner at Salam Bombay. Now my wife and I are no rookies with Indian food, having sought out the best the world has to offer all over the globe (But never IN India!). This place was delicious! The layers of flavors were incredible. This is food that is prepared... More

I've been to Salaam Bombay both for the buffet lunch and for dinner. Buffet is solid value. Lots of options, both veg and non-veg. Naan is soft (which is great and unusual). They had a daal, rice, paneer, vegetable. For dinner we had a malai kofta and a paneer, both of which were very good.

I'm not a big fan of Indian Cuisine typically, but this place was amazing. Ordered naan, coconut halibut curry, and coffee and everything was delicious. Service was prompt and courteous and the decor and ambiance is simple yet chic.

And being English, we know a thing or two about curries. When you walk into an Indian restaurant and it is full of Indians, you know you are in for some good food. And we were. Onion bhajis to start, and mains of lamb curry, and a chicken saag. So so tasty. Mopped up with an exquisite garlic naan. We... More

Since Vancouver was listed as a foodie destination with a diverse population, we thought to eat at as many different places as possible. We read about this restaurant in a guidebook in our hotel. Immediately suspicious I thought that perhaps the owners had paid money to have their advertisement listed; however, the restaurant exceeded our expectation. I tried the buffet... More

We start our meal with a bit of a disappointment. The lentil soup is relatively expensive at $8 for a small cup of soup, but I love Indian lentil soup, so I ordered it. It was quite different than what I expected, which is typically a hearty bowl of lentils with a thick stew-like consistency. This was more a of... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
