Such a great night at the Revel Room, we came across this place by accident, just walking along. Jimmy Roy was outside and asked us over, the place looked good so we went in for a drink, quite a few hours later we were still they having one hell of a night. Music was outstanding, we was there on the... More

Really cool place. Great refreshing cocktails... nice live music most nights and delicious Cajun inspired menu. I'll be back. Trifecta! I had the Cucumber Swizzle!

The Revel Room is just around the corner from our friends' apartment and they said it's one of their favorite places in/near the Gastown district. It's easy to see why. The dinner options include some cajun options (try the jambalaya, it was delicious!) along with typical cuisine (the ribs were great, too!). Several good options for local craft beers were... More

After dinner, this bar is a great destination to listen to live music and kick back with drinks in hand. The owner is on the stage singing and greating guests! Very fun place!

Wow!! This wee gem of a place was discovered when my wife & I were returning to our hotel after spending some time in Gastown. We came upon it quite by chance but we were so impressed with not only the warm hospitality of the owner/staff, the excellent choice of food & drinks but above all the quality of the live... Not many places like this to be found - warm, wonderful atmosphere, old style hospitality and a band that absolutely rocks! Discovered this place in March when I last visited Vancouver when it managed to brighten the darkest and rainiest day imaginable. Back again especially for Wednesday Revelry with the best rockabilly / Texas swing going. This evening brought my... More

Such a terrible meal and experience. We went as a small group on a Saturday. They had a live band that was not very good and so loud that no one could hear anyone else at the table. One waitress had the idea as she had foam ear plugs! The food sucked. Steak Frites was so bad. My 'steak' was... More

If you like live music they have some every night. The Buttermilk chicken bites were one of the best appetizers I've ever had. Good atmosphere, fun cocktails, and our server had a great chat with us.

I drop in to the Revel room from time to time, usually on blues night to see the amazing Steve Kozak trio with Roger Brant on bass and Chris Nordquist on drums. Steve is an amazing blues guitar player and singer, as well as being a Maple Blues Award Winner ! Where else can you grab good food, a cold... More

I had a great time catching up with friends and enjoying live music in an intimate setting. The band was accepting music requests and the food and wine pairings were exemplary.

Staying in Gastown

Neighborhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
