Place always full, not many restaurants in town, some arrogance already takes place. A pitty that they are not flexible hosting you in a more familiar manner. Bad vibesMore

Oh yes, we remember you, we had a 30-minute wait list on an extremely busy holiday Easter weekend. We offered to call you as soon as the table was ready but you choose not to wait and go elsewhere. I'm sorry, you mistook super busy...More
We stumbled across this place by driving by...what a treat! three of us each were blown away by our lunch meals...we then enjoyed incredible desserts- fruit pies and key lime pie...OMG...incredible. and then we even added 3 GIANT cookies to take out for later....wow, best...More
I dined here with my family and was extremely impressed by the quality and flavour of the dishes and the cookies for purchase were also delicious! One of our dinner items was over cooked and the chef graciously and kindly acknowledged the concern and re-prepared...More
Sobo was very good. Very sharp modern place. Menu choice good, pretty much all local. Service friendly and great dialogue with server. Place is family friendly so don't be surprised if youngsters present. Definitely will return.
Probably a good idea to book in advance as it’s popular because it is good. The tuna with soba noodles was delicious as was the crispy chicken with salad.
All the food is super fresh and delivered in a friendly modern atmosphere.
Had a reservation at 7:15, got seated right away. Tofino gin and tonic felt hand crafted, great tangy taste. Son asked for a Sprite, waiter said they didn’t have that but would make him something home made and similar, which turned out to be a...More

We had lunch here yesterday and it was the perfect spot. Service was spot on, food was fresh and very tasty. Many vegan options for my friend and delicious oysters for me! Definitely a keeper! We’ll be back.

The above comment was sent to me by TripAdvisor to answer a question about SoBo, as a recent reviewer of the restaurant. The comment isn't really a question but I thought I would add my "2 cents worth". Cilantro tastes like soap to me as well, but I normally ask whether or not the item I've ordered has that herb in it. I feel the onus is on me to ask about the ingredients, not the restaurant's to provide the recipe. Also, we've have been seated at the tables by the bathrooms, they were fine and I would prefer that to standing in the line by the front door for half an hour or so waiting, during their peak times, for a table.
We have followed SoBo from their early days in Tofino as a Food Truck to the wonderful restaurant they have now. We are lucky enough to visit Tofino every year, and always include a meal at SoBo during our visit. I'm surprised that the unhappy reviewer acted so strongly to the service he received from "the owner" (I agree, that should never happen - but it does occasionally, that's life). It sounds like their assigned server was attentive and helpful. The "heart" and creator of SoBo is Lisa Ahier, with the full support of her husband Artie to follow her dream of her own restaurant.
If the reviewer would like to make the Seviche at home, it's on page 131 of the cookbook and he could leave out the cilantro. Yes, we have the cookbook - we bought it as soon as it was published.
