Genuine cheese curds from Quebec, beef gravy made from scratch plus organic hand cut potatoes make for truly substantial poutine. The Falafels are also a great hit and hefty meal. Pricey but worth it.

For $10, it was quick, fresh and very tasty. Lots of roasted chicken and veggies. We had it during the outdoor market in Ganges.

To.die.for. Yup. I said it. And I gave it 5 stars. The wait and lineup was well worth it. We had the middle eastern chicken Kebob pita with marinated eggplant and hot sauce. I ordered mine without onions. I was full after eating mine but wanted another one just because it was yummy goodness!! I would totally eat here again... More

The Saturday Market experience on Salt Spring is not complete without some of Al's gourmet falafels. Hot, fresh and perfectly made. Awesome fries too. Not to be missed.

Locals told us that we should visit the cart and we were not disappointed. They even have tables set up so you can enjoy the food. Our Falafels were great. Outstanding quality for such low cost. We look forward to eating here again the next time on Salt Spring.

Delicious lunch. Clean and fresh. Great service. Worth a visit. Off the beaten path, but Al has a loyal local clientele who stop by for a quick bite. Poutine and fries look great!

We visit Al's Falafel cart pretty much every time we visit the Saturday MArket on SSI. I LOVE the falafels; the thought of them makes my mouth water. The line can often be long, but it is well worth it because the food and the service have always been great for us!

Perhaps we were here on an off-day. It took forever for the people in the truck to acknowledge us, and longer to place an order (there wasn't a line, they just didn't look up). Then the order was wrong, and when we tried to explain, they ignored us again - just shrugged... the falafel and fries were ok.

Hi Mandy, I am very sorry to hear that your experience was anything less than what we would all hope to experience. In order to better understand, could you please tell me what date, time and location you were at? I would also be happy to discuss further with you if you wish. Thank you Al More

Fresh off the ferry, accompanied by two very hungry sons, we headed right for Al's to begin our culinary adventures on Salt Spring Island. Our guys were determined to try every poutine option on the island, and AL's was our first and favorite. The food is prepared fresh, arrives hot, and the flavors are bright. Sit at the picnic tables... More

Description
Where to eat on Salt Spring! Al's Gourmet Falafel and Fries is Salt Spring's gourmet mobile food cart. We are open for lunch Monday to Friday at 151 Rainbow Road, 11am - 4pm. Find us on Saturdays at the Salt Spring Saturday Market. Al's started in 2011 and quickly became an island institution, famous for their fresh, home made and cooked to order falafels (pita or salad) with tahini sauce and marinated eggplant and fresh cut potato or yam fries. Or try our real Poutine, just the way you'd get it in Quebec! With generous portions and service with a smile it is clear to see why the Salt Spring locals love our food. We hope you will too! Al
