After a hard day of hiking on Newcastle Island, the short uphill hike from the harbour to Wesley street almost made us miss this meal. Nonetheless, we walked there with tired, dusty legs. Asteras is the latest restaurant to find itself in this old Victorian house. A previous incarnation was a high end continental restaurant. This is more ethnic, noisy... More

If you like Greek food and lamb you will love Asteras. This is our favourite restaurant in Nanaimo for birthdays, anniversaries or just a night out. Service is friendly and prompt, prices are reasonable..Can be a little noisy when a large group arrives but I can put up with that. Reservations are a must.

Great food. Great atmosphere and service. The food is traditional Greek food and very authentic. I can speak from experience having visited Greece.

Always hot when it arrives, includes a side in the price, delicious! In a quaint old building downtown Nanaimo. Go for a walk on the water front after your amazing meal.

Greek isn't on the top of my list of favorites, but this place was excellent and had some other choices. The restaurant is in an old house and very cute. Wait staff was excellent and knowledgable. Save room for dessert. Make reservations.

Was very busy when we were there. No problem for a very well run establishment. Excellent food. Service next to none.

Service was really exceptional and atmosphere was nice. Food was tasty but i did not feel so well afterward. I had mousakka with dolmades appetizers. Husband shared the appetizer and felt fine.

The best Greek food we've had since we were in Greece. Have been there three times in 2 wks., and plan on more visits before we leave next week. The service has been amazing, the food fantastic. The Lamb Roast, Moussaka, Spanakopita, the specials and of course the Ouzo, are all amazing. A must, if you are in Nanaimo!

This is IMHO the best overall restaurant in Nanaimo and extremely popular for good reason. We have eaten there about 8 or 10 times in the past year and always great.
