A little out of the way, but a great place for a bite to eat, or to walk the docks and see all the boats.

We have eaten at Genoa Bay cafe many times but were disappointed this time. Calamari, fry bread and chowder were as wonderful as ever. But we waited a long time for our entrees (45 minutes). Fish and chips was mediocre, lamb shank was okay but...vegetables were overcooked and cold. It seemed the kitchen was overwhelmed by the number of dinner orders. Server was apologetic for the wait. We noted others also waited a long time and one person sent his meal back as it was undercooked.More

We'll be back to Genoa Bay Cafe. It's 5-Star for us in every way - creative menu, rustic decor, waterfront in spectacular scenery, first-class staff & service, and proper price point. I had jambalaya and Rita had snapper tacos. Paired with a Red Rooster merlot...and chased by an almost-as-good-as-sex carrot cake - what's not to like about the Genoa Bay Cafe?More

We thoroughly enjoyed our first time here! The service was excellent, food was great and loved the patio! It was our Anniversary dinner and a memorable one!

We were a little apprehensive but everything seemed very well planned for COVID precautions. Tables were well separated. Eating inside or out. Tables and seats appropriately "sanitised" and staff well taught re precautions. Dinner was wonderful. Both I and my wife had the grilled lamb...loin , well presented with fresh local cauliflower, maashed potatoes, and squash. A great mint dressing on the lamb. Good wine selection and speciality coffees and a small but interesting selection of desserts. We have been here several times over 30 years or so. Owners changed some years ago but the food, dockside ambience and service are great. Thank youMore

We were visiting a local winery, and while discussing wine and food we were open to suggestions for lunch. A beautiful summer day, why not something on the water. This place is really nice. Small and personal. We didn’t call ahead and there was a...table available. They are Covid compliant. We tried their fish tacos - excellent crunch! Scallop cerviche was fresh and delicious. The calamari was amazing. Lightly battered and fresh. We loved the number of local wines this place offers. The service was excellent!More

I wanted to try something different near Duncan and came across the positive reviews for Genoa Bay Cafe. We enjoyed our visit, the food and service were very good. We enjoyed exploring the marina and bay afterwards.

Our waitress was probably the best server I have encountered. The food is fabulous. We dined on the patio overlooking a quiet marina.

The outdoor deck has been nicely tailored into 6 widely spaced tables, and a second outdoor area has been added as well off the marina parking lot. Lovely views from all. My second lunch in a week in this beautiful setting. Highly recommended. There is...a lovely hike towards Cowichan Bay nearby, just a bit up a hill to a very nice view.More

The food was ok but we were very disappointed with the very slow service. Our waiting stagg gave us the feeling that we should be honoured to eat there. The restaurant is in a beautiful setting, we had kayaked there in anticipation of a special...family gathering. Don't know if they were short of staff that day but after our experience we weren't prepared to try it again.More
