After not getting service at a restaurant in Cowichan, we choose after driving back to Duncan, e stopped at the Dog House, so glad that we did, service was great, food very plentiful, fresh and delicious.

I like the Dog House in Duncan. It is an "institution" as the restaurant has been around a long time. Good food and great friendly staff. The menu is varied, lots of home cooking standards and also variety of ethnic dishes too. I would recommend for a good meal go there.

If you are in Duncan and looking for a family restaurant that will satisfy kids and parents alike I would suggest this restaurant. The menu is huge and the prices are fairly reasonable.Biggest problem we had was deciding what to eat! Portions are significant. Wonderful choices for dessert as well. We took our hockey team and everyone enjoyed their meals.... More

Went twice while visiting the island. Food was really good as was the service! The portions are quite large.

Enjoyed being in the hustle bustle of the busy morning breakfast rush. Good place for a large breaki.

Always busy, huge menu, low end food. Service is adequate. Many of my friends love this place, but we won't eat there again. No privacy - booths packed in for max capacity, lots of prepackaged food, cheap, but you get what you pay for. Think a mom and pops Dennys.

The service was super friendly, and the restaurant was busy. It took more than 10 minutes to get my single meal and it was not very good. Dry scrambled eggs half cooked hashbrowns. I chose a local restaurant over a chain but was not rewarded for that choice. I'll hope for better next time.

Have been travelling Vancouver island for years....first time stopping there for breakfast or any meal for that matter. Great Foood....larger portions then either of us could finish...we both have the steak skillet....my dog got my left over steak. Great service to boot.....

Apparently one of the oldest eateries around. The have a lunch and separate dinner menu but when I compared them they are virtually the same. They do have specials on a board. I had fish and chips which were very poor, maybe a bad choice. Service was friendly though.

I often have business in Duncan, or company from the mainland. There is a strong likelihood of stopping at the Dog House for Breakfast/Brunch. The Eggs Benny, in all their forms, are deliciously presented, portions are humongous, so much so that I often order a single Benny. Have had wonderful lunchtime salads too, and again, if you have a large... More
