The Arbutus is basically a Duncan institution! If you're looking for affordable, greasy diner-type food (which I love!) than the Arbutus is a great choice. The staff are lovely and the place is very quaint and adorable. You even get to roll dice for a chance to win a growing pot! I'm a big fan of burger and fries and... More

Been eating there for years. Staff is always friendly and prompt. This place is always busy and sometimes hard to get a seat...but that's a good thing. They have some good favorites and some great dishes that you won't find anywhere else. When you want a hearty full lunch this is where I go. One of my all time favorite... More

This place is like stepping back several decades. I remember cafe's like this when I was a kid, back in the '50's. The grub is fresh and plentiful; more than some can eat! And prices are reasonable.

We love to go to this "funky" Cafe. The meals are always good and the portions are quite generous. They have fun artwork on the walls and kids love to create their own art with the crayons and paper placemats that they receive when we are seated.

This cafe has a very friendly staff and good food. The prices are decent and a great selection to choose from. We will be back! Dar is a hands on owner. The current kitchen staff is great!

Many years ago this cafe was a place that was very popular (1960's) then it went downhill. Today it has upgraded a little but still retains that era feel. The food we had was done just right and was served with a smile. There were regulars there and they were treated with respect and humour and quite frankly I was... More

We asked around for a good breakfast eatery in Duncan and we were referred to this place, stating that they heard it was noted for their breakfasts. After reviewing their ratings, thought it was good to go. WRONG!!!! Here is how it unfolded. I asked for the two toned rye bread and got multi-graind. The toast was cold and two... More

This is one of those unspoken places- truck stop food- ie average to well prepared food at very, very reasonable prices. Miles (the owner) has his artwork on display, and he hasn't changed the formula for decades. Reliable for food, price and times, but not open in the evenings or holidays.

I have not been into the Arbutus Cafe for quite some time. I found the staff very friendly. A very busy little cafe. The owner, Dar is great with all the customers! Our lunches came out hot and just as we ordered them. We will be back. Well done!
