Went out with friends last night and ordered separate dishes for sharing. They were all yummy.. I had the shrimp with apples in a chili-curry sauce. I couldn't wrap my head around this combination so I just had to try it. The shrimp had a crunchy outside and wonderful buttery texture and the sauce was amazing. My friends had a... More

It's such a shame to me that some of the most expensive and often least authentic restaurants are located near the university--for staff and students that might want to organise a lunch or dinner nearby, the options are not plentiful. Again, there are so many authentic restaurants in town that are more affordable...

It's definitely overpriced. We had a pretty great meal but not really great. The spicing of the curries we tried was really nice, but the price prohibited two people on a budget from exploring the menu a bit more.

Just a heads up, make sure you have some dollars (oxford scholars) on hand you will need them, most entrees around the $20-25 mark......went with a group (nine) $29 per head for 3 apps and 4 entrees and rice, overall not too bad, Prawns (shrimp) not bad but chicken dishes nothing flash, ginger beef though was a surprise and very... This didn't taste at all like thai food and their cashew chicken was AWFUL it tasted like chicken and some tomato paste with cashews thrown in. The only thing that was good was the coconut rice. Not to mention this was way over priced!

A very good menu and excellent service. Tables are a bit too close together. We went early so it wasn't busy and the food was excellent. Really busy by early evening and very "crammed" together. Best Thai in Edmonton.

Authentic and Tasty. The King and I is a recommendation for anyone looking for consistently good Thai food that is authentic. It is a casual dining spot on Whyte Ave. that is nice to go to with the whole family.

This Thai food lacks spice and much flavour. For much more authentic and amazing Thai food, go to Numchok Wilai or Syphay.

I always thought this was THE place for Thai cuisine in Edmonton -- until we tried it finally. I have to say that the place is packed and I'm sure it must be the same people who keep going there for Thai and never try other Thai places in town. The food was okay -- nothing bad. But nothing spectacular... More
