Love this place! Always go in between classes as it is super close to the University. The food is excellent and there are so many fun drinks to try! Not a huge food selection but all the options are delicious- check the menu first if...you are picky! Highly recommend the chicken and wafflesMore

There is minimal options for a vegan. This is a quaint little place often filled with students but also has people of all ages. It is drafty and cold in really cold weather but the staff are kind and considerate. They moved us to a...warmer spot. We went there for a late dinner on a Saturday evening because we like the energy and the service. The wine was great and my husband loves the selection of beer.More

This place is known for its cinnamon buns, and we were not disappointed. I had 2 poached eggs with baby potatoes, toast, and extra crispy bacon. The food was delicious. The service was friendly and efficient. It was a wholesome and quite affordable breakfast. Would...definitely go here again.More

Atmosphere: 4/5 – Modern & rustic. Dimly lit. Seat spacing is a little bit tight. Price: $$$/5 – Average pricing for restaurant food. A few very pricey beverages. Customer Service: 4/5 – Servers were very polite. Service speed was slightly slower than average. Location: 4/5...– Amazing location for university students; not so much for others. It is close to the river valley, high level bridge, and Whyte Ave which is very nice. Unfortunately, it is not easy to find parking nearby, especially free parking. Taste: 5/5 – Very tasty food and alcoholic beverages. Menu: 4/5 – Food menu is average size with not that many unique items. Beverage menu is very large with many unique items. Sustainability: 1/5 – Couldn’t find info on ingredient sourcing. No advertised sustainable initiatives. Strengths – Very flavourful food & drinks. Weaknesses – No sustainable initiatives. Good items to buy: Pulled pork, Chicken & waffles, Leffe Blonde. Summary: 3.7/5 - Overall, I would recommend stopping by Sugarbowl, especially if you are into the booze. They have outstandingly beverages and great food. Their food menu is a little small, but their drink menu is very large. There is the occasional unique food item on special but for the most part the food menu has pretty common items. I love their pulled pork sandwich. The atmosphere is nice, but the seating is a little cramped, especially when it is busy. The one area I think they could improve in most is by creating some sustainable initiatives. Thank you for taking the time to read my review and I hope it helps you!! 😊More

We had a great breakfast here, my omelette was perfectly cooked and the others really enjoyed their meals as well. The cinnamon loaf was fantastic, as we ordered it to start and shared in amount ourselves, and it was excellent. The place is small, and...has a great atmosphere. Our server was fantastic, we never had to ask for more coffee and she was around quite a bit. The only downside would have to be the wait outside, as it took us over 30 minutes to get a table.More

Wow- what a cute & cozy little place! Apparently just called Sugar Bowl now (or Sugar Bowl Cafe). Self-proclaimed bistro & pub. We went for breakfast on a Sunday- and glad we got there before 9 a.m. as a line-up soon formed outside. Love the...atmosphere - somewhere between rustic and Bohemian. Whatever it is, it draws a sweet variety of diverse folks to its bosom. Busy place, so service not always as fast as you may like/need, but everyone was super friendly and good at what they do. Good bottomless cups of coffee, and a neat little breakfast/brunch menu that made it difficult to choose. Comfort food, to be sure. Good for vegetarians. Apparently known for their cinnamon buns- they are giant, so most folks order them to go. I had the spinach/feta omelette, which was the best I've had (eggs so fluffy!). The guys had one of the specials - a Cuban Benny. Whether you're a foodie or not, I'd recommend it. You won't be disappointed - but you'd better come hungry!More

Parking is tough, but I guess that’s normal for whyte ave area. It was steady, but able to get seated right away. The cafe latte was good and I ordered the eggs benny on cornmeal bread. It was ok, I felt they didn’t have much...of a selection for food, mostly focused on ontap beverages. I will need to try this place out again.More

We have always gone for either breakfast or brunch to the Sugar Bowl. The food is yummy and satisfying. The Eggs Benny all are very tasty and the massive cinnamon bun is a tasty treat to share!
