Sorry, but this place served absolutely the worst fish and chips I have ever had. Actually finding any fish buried in overcooked, hard batter was a challenge. Never again!

Handy if you are staying at the Fairmont Hotel MacDonald. Great pub food, especially the Shepherds Pie. Extensive on tap beer selection. Reasonable prices. Indoor and outdoor seating.
Very large drink menu have daily specials Monday through Friday patio area to sit outside and friendly service. Overall we had a pleasant time.
great for a night out. Good pub style food. Great atmosphere. Close to Rogers Place. Decor is very English style.
One of our go to eating spots on our recent visit. On the outskirts of the downtown area, this British style pub served good food, a wide variety of beers and wines and the service we were given was very good on each occasion. The...food we had was macaroni cheese, bangers and mash, butter chicken, fish and chips and chicken pot pie. Nothing too fancy, but always tasty.More
Wednesday 24 august ordered the dry ribs at their terrace. Unfortunately the the dry ribs were tough and the meat bone dry. I do understand that the outside of the ribs should be dry and crispy when deep fried as written in the menu, but...you should expect that the meat itself is still juicy and not bone dry. Mentioned this to the waitress and she told me defensively that she never had a complaint before and that the meat is supposed to be dry and chewy. To me a strange remark that the recipe is intended to fry the ribs that long to dry out the meat. I declined the offer to get new dry ribs, since it probably will be the same tough chewy meat and asked to take the ribs off the table and off my bill. She would talk to her manager who would decide if I had to pay for it anyway regardless the fact that I’ve send it away. Didn’t hear anything back and when presented with the bill had to pay for the dish without any explanation. When asked for clarification the waitress told me simply this is how the ribs suppose to be; dry to the bone and that I just have to pay for it anyway even when send back. Really is this how you do customer relations and deal when a client isn’t happy about a dish? What a terrible experience!More
met here after work for drinks and bar food. Nice atmosphere, comfy outdoor seating. Friendly attentive service.
Quirky English style pub in downtown Edmonton that has friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. The highlight was the best nachos ever - absolutely delicious!
Very simple visit, after the Janes Taylor and Jackson Brown concert. Some drinks and food if lucky. Too late for food, which was odd all over Edmonton for a city of a million plus at 11pm, but so be it. Ordered a rye and coke,...Ginger soda and Boyle of beer. Cocktails had flat pop, no biggy, stuff happens. Waitress replaced with same flat 9.00 drink. I bring to bar and say hey, have you tried the pop? He says there is nothing we can do to fix the flat pop! Lol, can you believe that? And he says it with a smile and smirk, so much so that I contemplated breaking his teeth for him. Ps. This used to be the water hole for many of us firefighters, that won’t happen again.More
My dad would have described this place as “more of a British pub than an actual British pub”. That’s a good thing. Nostalgic pints after work - a happy hour order of salt and pepper wings - what’s not to like? The downtown core is...looking a little rough around the edges, but the Sherlock Holmes remains a bastion of light amidst the darkness of mediocrityMore
I was surprised Sherlock Holmes Pub still in business for all those years , ( I hear the new owner did a fantastic job for marketing ) I am a regular at the Edmonton Mall location in the 85's to 90's , happy to seen...them have four locations in the Edmonton area , we so happy we finished all our meeting so we dropped in to grab a bit to eat , very interesting a tiny cottage building and surround with high rises , and inside it is traditional English Pub Atmosphere , very noisy , but not busy at all , maybe little early for dinner crowed , menu is 100% English style Pub food , very large menu , lot of choices , or too much choices ! my S.P chicken wings very tasty , good size not like pigeon wings , WOW ! my Bangers and Mash is a classic English dishes , very flavourful , remind me the good old days in Liverpool in the 60's ! my partner she love her 3 piece Fish Chips , very fresh and flaky not greasy at all , she gave try one piece to try , very nicely done , I can see this place will like Mad Mad world in game day or weekend ! live music on Friday and Saturday , service very friendly , not pricy at all . also is Gluten friendly , so if you visit Edmonton , make a stop at this pub , it is truly amazing !More
I used to enjoy this pub, but it has gone downhill since my last visit. The smell from the bathrooms was terrible. The drinks were served with rotten fruit and garnish. The food was mediocre at best. We won't be returning.
The service was excellent, the food and drinks are good. Great location. A good find close to major hotels. Tha ambiance is friendly.
We were at The Craft Beer Market across the street and it sucked (freezing food and they did little about it) so we took off to Sherlock Holmes and so glad we did. There was a live acoustic soloist playing good music and most of...the patrons were in their 30-50s which is more our style rather than 19 year old party spots. We found a 2 seater high top and the bartender greeted us immediately even though it was quite busy. The house beer was excellent along with their caesars (we didn’t eat here so can’t comment on that). We continued to receive great service from the bartender and stayed until 2am. There had also been an Elks game so that crowd stopped in after the game as well. We didn’t want to leave! Thanks for a fun night!More
Sing along with the piano player! Request songs and meet a whole bunch of new people that are so sociable and just want to have fun! A very unique place to go to in downtown Edmonton ! You’ll love it!
