The rotating restaurant was great - wonderful views of the city. Our server was a little over the top. The menu is old-school with offerings like escargot, chateau briand, and baked Alaska - would have liked to see some more creativity. The steak Diane with...the table flambé was great for show. The ribeye was large and good - but the Yorkshire pudding was too chewy. The bouillabaisse was just okay - the broth was rather bland and, unfortunately, I encountered quite a few small shells while eating the scallops that grated on my teeth and I had to spit out. I may return for the experience but not the food.More

It is a great restaurant with a lovely view and exceptional services. I so much love the revolving aspect of the hotel. It was initially glaring, but as we adjust to it, we don't even know that it is still moving. The service was exceptional,...although the food was just okay, but the service and courteousness of the staff was so great that it compensated for the food. I will surely be visiting again to check other food options.More

We met our daughters/son in law for a BDay dinner for my wife. Excellent views but Smokey outside. Drinks were very late in coming and poor. Not sure what the Lemon drop was. Took forever to get our main courses and my wife’s Lobster Ravioli...was terrible. Supposed to be in a butter sauce but it tasted like lemon sauce in water. Other courses were just OK. Highlight was the cherries jubilee desert. Never did get our coffee’s….. They did comp. the Ravioli but the food and service was not up to the price being charged. Disappointing Evening!More

I wanted to mark my twin grandsons’ high school graduation in a special way. I wasn’t surprised by the added on 18% gratuity for a large group but I was also told that 1 bill was preferred. This worked for the food but I requested...separate bills for the drinks and this seemed to be a bit of a problem although it all worked out in the end. The service was good -it seemed to improve throughout the evening although I was a bit disappointed that there wasn’t a special dessert or something offered to the graduates. The food for the children came out last which also was a bit disappointing and there is only one vegetarian option on the menu. The food itself, however, was absolutely top notch … everyone ordered something different (except for the vegetarian choices) and there wasn’t a bite left. All the choices were so good! I personally shared the poached pear salad (generous portion, perfectly dressed, very fresh) and the bouillabaisse (perfectly cooked seafood, delicious and flavourful broth that accented the fish without overpowering it) and a perfect cappuccino. All in all, a great place for a special dinner.More

Had the most amazing time and the food was to die for. The Carpaccio is a must! Service was outstanding. Too bad it was so smoky but the view was still awesome. Highly recommend and will return on my next visit to the city.

I will start off by saying that the view of the city, from this height, was spectacular. We were there for dinner so got to see it all lit up. At first, the moving made me feel a little light headed but that quickly went...away. I was overall simply not impressed with the food or service. For appetizers we ordered the crab cake and something else. They came out quick and the waiter said it was because the kitchen wasn't busy. Surprise surprise, both dishes were cold and lacked flavour. For the main my husband ordered the prime rib and I ordered the arctic char. The main was a little hotter but still left much to be desired. As I was eating, I noticed the texture of the fish was a bit off but couldn't tell because of the dim lighting. We used the flash on my husband's phone and realized that the fish was raw in the middle. They were kind enough to remove it from the bill but I was still disappointed that I could not have a nice meal. We took a chance and ordered dessert, cheesecake and tiramisu. Both tasted stale and were tasteless. I am glad to say that we have tried this restaurant and got to see the city. I will not be going back because the food was nothing to remember.More

My wife and I recently took our son and daughter-in-law and their 1 year old for dinner here when they were visiting from Europe. I remember my parents taking us there when we were kids and how much we liked it then, fine dining! It...did go through a bit of a dive in quality a number of years ago, but it is back with a vengeance. There was nothing that disappointed that evening. The view of course was spectacular, but so was the service and the food. Colin was our waiter and was superb, not hovering but not ignoring you. The food was delightful, with each of us trying something different and each of us convinced that they had the best dish. They were very accommodating with our 1 year old granddaughter, and treated her like gold. I would not hesitate to return here again and again, definitely an Edmonton classic.More

The point of going here is for the view. The food is good, but probably not worth the price in terms of what you get other places. The staff is polite enough but in that condescending way of more expensive restaurants. It was slow for...service. The food for the buffet is right at the elevator making it tough to get in and out if it is busy. But you should go at least once. We came for a special occasion. I was distracted because of a bad review where the woman said her son got stuck somehow and she had to rip down the wall to save him. I could not figure out what she could have been talking about. It moves pretty slow and there are no pinch points.More

Went last night with my husband and 4 yr old along with our boss and his wife who came all the way from Australia. The food and service do not disappoint. The views showcase the best of downtown Edmonton! A special shoutout to all the...staff headed by our waiter, Spencer, who made sure we had a good experience all throughout. I thought my toddler will feel out of place but he really enjoyed it and felt he was “one of the grown ups”. Definitely this wouldn’t be the last time we will visit this amazing place right in our hometown!More

We were celebrating a special occasion and made a reservation in advance which we were on time for. This was the fanciest restaurant my parents knew of in Edmonton, that is why they chose it. The views were beautiful and the revolving aspect is unique....The parkade at the hotel does not give a good first impression since it looks run down, dirty, and like it could fall apart at any moment. I researched ahead of time about options for being gluten free and for kids. There seemed to be reviews that said there was a kids menu but when I looked online I could not find one. The menu I did find stated that gluten free options were available. I was disappointed to find out once we arrived that there was nothing for kids, no activity sheet, no crayons, no menu. Our server seemed knowledgeable about the menu and suggested kids could order smaller portions of chicken, prime rib or pasta with 2 options of sauce. My kids both chose pasta, and I added prawns to their orders so they could have some protein. I do not know what these cost since someone else paid the bill. I did not see our server wash or sanitize his hands ever. He hit the back of my head with his drink tray and hit my daughter's face with her napkin (I did not witness this). I was disappointed that when bread and butter were brought over, there was nothing for someone who is gluten free. Most restaurants have at least one option for gluten free bread. And there were no gluten free desserts except sorbet or ice cream. La Ronde should improve on their offerings for gluten free people, especially since the menu states they can make accommodations for food allergies and special dietary needs. My daughter spilled half of her drink and we cleaned it up as best we could. Our server took away the wet napkins but we had to ask for new clean ones. It was kind of him to replace her drink with a smaller, less tippable glass. I am not sure if we were charged for this. The salads were so simple and boring for the price and size. They should really have more toppings and creativity. I ordered the Artisan baby greens, $13 for very little toppings, not even enough for a topping with every bite and I could not taste the salad dressing. We ordered a variety of entrees and my mashed potatoes were cold (a substitute for the spaetzle pasta). The bison filet was tasty and cooked to my liking. My dad was happy with his prime rib meal. He accidentally dropped his knife, or it slid into the gravy on his plate, so he asked for a new knife. Our server brought one over but then reached onto my dad's plate to remove the dirty knife. I felt like he shouldn't have done that, especially since I had never seen him wash his hands or use the hand sanitizer placed throughout the restaurant. Overall, I was unimpressed with this "fine dining" experience and am not motivated to eat here ever again, especially being gluten free and having children.More

Rather than preparing a meal for two we decided to go out for dinner. Reservations were not that plentiful but we did get into the La Ronde. What a great choice! We had the turkey dinner with all the trimmings - enough to take some...home and also take one dessert home. The portions were generous but then it was Christmas and the price for a meal was raised. I'm hoping they paid their staff more for working that day. Our server, Christopher, took care of us and we also carried on a nice discussion with him about the last 2 years under the covid situation. Sure glad La Ronde is back. Great night out for us even though we were looking at temps of - 27 C. Was it a good place to dine? On the way out my wife made reservations for another dinner there in January. Happy wife, happy life.More
