Don’t be fooled by the website like I was. We arrived, a party of 4. We were ready to order drinks and were told that they had no specialty cocktails, no wine and 1 beer. There was a wall of wine on the wall with...two inches of dust on them. They didn’t know how to open any. They were slow to wait in us and there was no one in the restaurant. Anyways with no drinks to have with dinner, we left and told them that they needed to change the menu to reflect the reality of the restaurant. Do not go, I repeat, do not go, ever. We should have trained around when we saw the entryway covered in overgrown weeds.More

If you are after chicken balls and egg rolls, you've come to the wrong place. But if you want to taste the flavours of NW China then sit down in the comfy environment and enjoy. The menu has good photos so you won't have to...wonder what you are ordering. Staff has good English as well. They were attentive without being bothersome. Dishes are also unique so you'll feel like you've been transported outside of Edmonton. If you've actually visited NW China, the kebabs may be a bit underwhelming. But what they lack in size they make up for in flavour. Do try the cold salad options - very authentic. And the noodle soups are very tasty. Top it off with free parking nearby and this is a place you'll be sure to return to.More

Did some searching on Trip Advisor and came up with this restaurant. Quite a number of good reviews and one in my party wanted Chinese food so thought we'd give this place a shot. Parking is close by and well marked. Seated promptly and provided...menus. Pictured menus were good and not difficult to follow where there was a choice. The server explained a number of featured dishes to us with some suggestions. What surprised me was the meal itself. I had a hand pulled noodle selection which was at least 95% noodles with a sprinkling of the main ingredient. It was good but so little braised beef. I left about 40% of the noodles - too much. The others in my party took their leftovers home for a later meal.More

We've been here a few times now and have tried a lot of various dishes which all of them have been good. They have some authentic cold salads including a spicy cucumber one which is awesome. Their noddle dishes with minced meat sauce are very...good and really close to the ones we had in China. They charge $2 extra for the hand pulled one but its totally worth it since in my opinion taste better then the regular ones. Service is always quick and the chop sticks and tables always clean. We originally didn't want to go because we thought parking would be an issue but they have complimentary parking in the back. You simply need to drive pass the little plaza on the right and the lot is in front of the condos surrounded by tree logs. Will be going again for sure.More

Tang came highly recommended and did not disappoint. Hand made noodles and a wide variety of dishes not typically found on Chinese restaurant menus. We are happy to pass on a high recommendation. Go! You will not be sorry

Good service. Plenty of parking lots. Not different to find a table. Reasonable price. Northwest style Chinese food. Not bad. Recommend lamb skewer and beer in Edmonton. Though the taste of lamb skewer needs improvement.

I pop into this place whenever I get a craving for wonton soup + it’s in my neighbourhood ... here is the catch or miss is it’s never the same!! 😩 My first time it was perfect the way I like it although I’ve always...felt too little filling as I’m not fond of too much wrap ... Maybe you will get the same cook that made the first (good) wonton for me 😃. Revolving cooks so never know 😞. The tea is great 👍🏼 and service is mostly good. Food is from north west of China and different from the typical Chinese food served at restaurants ...More

Visited this restaurant after hearing an awesome radio review. Overall excellent! Very different food that was delicious. Wait staff was friendly and spent lots of time explaining the menu. Can’t wait to return and try some other things on the menu. Can be spicy but...will accommodate those who prefer blander food.More

The Tang Bistro is an excellent and authentic North Western Chinese restaurant located at the south end of the High Level Bridge on the east side of 109 Street. Please note that there is plenty of free parking. The food is very different, authentic of...this region of China and very tasty - especially the homemade wide noodles with your choice of sauce. Every dish I had was very good & reasonably priced. The room is bright and large and the service was attentive and professional. There is an outdoor patio which would be great on a summer day! My dining Companion chose the selection of dishes we had but all of them were excellent - even the Won Ton soup made with their own broth. The homemade spicy chili oil condiment was perfectly prepared. We also had some BBQ Skewers which were fabulous! The menu (which is beautifully created with pictures) has many items to choose from and the Roujiam or "Chinese Hamburger" looks like a great choice. As it was lunch when I was there, I did not check out the drink menu. If you want to try something different but be confident that the food is excellent, try the Tang Bistro. It would be great to go with a group so you can sample more of the dishes. … I already look forward to my next visit there!More

This restaurant at the corner of busy neighbourhood carries good quality in-house made noodles. The smooth texture of the noodle combined with the braised beef soup in good harmony. Service was excellent, food was very authentic and tasty. I will come back again for the...noodles!More

i went out wandering tonight looking for an interesting new spot, something unique, i stopped at Tang, a very cool Chinese restaurant named after the Tang dynasty with food from the region, central silk road as I understand. Some very cool/interesting things on the menu....I started with Plum juice, then moved on to a sake cocktail: Melty Snow, wonderful cocktail, so good that i then tried a Svadka, sake vodka and lemon juice. I will be back to try the others. Then i tried bbq lamb skewers: exceptional, followed by the Mount Qi burger, apparently a traditional street food over a 1,000 years ago. It was wonderful, great flavour and unique. This is a wonderful find and a unique restaurant, one of those times that i really wish I was here with more people to explore more of the menu, the good news is I will be back. Thank you and I wish you well.More

We visited this place on a recommendation and I am quite surprised by the excellent Northern Chinese food taste experience. We just absolutely loved all the dishes that we ordered. If you are looking for something different and a nice little surprise, then I would...highly recommend visiting this place. Prices are very reasonable.More

The chef, Jackie, came to our table at the beginning of the meal to demonstrate the art of hand pulling noodles. Very friendly and informative. Service was attentive and excellent. The food is excellent as well. The hand pulled noodles with the 3 sauces was...exceptional. The pork burgers were delicious. Some in our group thought there was too much bread and not enough meat; I still thought it was excellent. Sweet and sour soup was also exceptional. If you are looking for normal western Chinese, this is not your best bet. If you want a different (by Edmonton standards) and delicious experience, I highly recommend this.More

I love Chinese food, but northern Chinese food is hard to find here. The menu is small, but very tasty, and they do have Chinese beer (like a wheat beer) and that 58 proof bamboo liquor. It is popular with our international students from China,...especially since it is right on the edge of the University of Alberta. Dress is casual. Their hours are on the website. Google it for more reviews. I will go back, often.More
