We first went to Smuggler's in 1979 and now to try to eat there when we come to Calgary every 5 or 6 years. We have always found it excellent. This was our first time for lunch. Our party of 4 arrived after 1:30 following the Stampede parade and there were lots of tables available. The wine list was short... More

Smuggler's Inn has the best buffet brunch in Calgary. It is the best value for your money. The special brunch food items change every week so it's never boring or repetitive. They do have the staple brunch items like waffles, cold cuts, various salads, and pastries. Coffee or juice comes with the meal. The staff is awesome and super accommodating.

We had our mother with us. She is very hard to please and usually finds fault about many things during a dining out experience. She was very pleased with our dinner and complimented us on our choice of Smuggler's Inn. Our server was excellent and ensured that we had everything we needed (and more). Our food was excellent (two people... More

If you don't mind eating in a bit of a darker place, you'll love this throw back to 80's restaurants. The salad bar is not very big but the fresh ingredients make up for it. The larger cuts of prime rin look more like roasts so bring your appetite!!!

If you're looking for a nice romantic evening out for date night, family celebration or office dinner make your reservations here. They have a great soup/salad selection that comes complimentary with an entree. I highly recommend the steak soup and mulligatawny soup if they are on offer. Large portions and a wide selection of beverages will ensure no one leaves... More

My husband and I have been going here for many years. This used to be the place to get delicious prime rib. Well, we paid a visit last night and it was awful. There ever present salad bar had shrunk in size and did not contain all the stuff I enjoy. To make matters worse, I ordered a prime rib.... More

Smugglers knows how to impress and they've been doing it consistently for years. One of my favourite place to get a great steak. The service is above par and they over deliver!

We've been going to Smugglers for over 30 years, and there's a reason we keep going back. It's a unique, one-of-a-kind Steak House that is perfect mix of fun and formal dining, informal yet 100% hospitable. The soups at the salad bar are to die for (I should perhaps re-phrase that, but you get the gist of what I'm saying)... More

Description
Smuggler's Inn originally began in 1967 as Bar X Steakhouse, an American company. The current owner, Frank Krowicki, bought out his partners and went to work developing a brand new concept to Calgary. His vision included a mix of casual, late night fine dining and live piano bar. Over the years, the building expanded around Smuggler's Inn, with the addition of Winelite dining room on the west side, and Backstreet lounge and dining room on the north side. As the dining scene in Calgary began to change, Frank too saw a need to change and adapt. The first endeavour was the conversion of Backstreet lounge to Open Sesame in 2000. Open Sesame has been serving fresh, Pan Asian cuisine to happy customers ever since. The conversion of Backstreet dining room to Bolero was complete in 2007. As Calgary's first Brazilian style steakhouse, Bolero continues to satisfy meat lovers with its unique and interactive style of dining. Our latest addition is Tango Bistro, on the west side of the building, which once was Winelite dining room. At Tango Bistro, we bring together delicious, hand crafted small plates and fantastic wine to create a casual atmosphere for all to enjoy. In May 2013, Smuggler's Inn celebrated 40 years of serving mouth-watering Alberta prime rib and steaks alongside many original items, which have made us famous around the world. Four restaurants under one roof keeps us busy, but we wouldn't have it any other way. And the rest, as they say, is history! Smuggler's Group Rewards is a unique program that rewards you every time you visit us. For every dollar you spend, you earn points towards FREE Loyalty Certificates from Smuggler's Group Of Restaurants. Whenever you make a purchase, simply present your Smuggler's Group Rewards Card. We will automatically track your purchases and assign points to your membership. For every 200 points you accumulate, you will accumulate, you will automatically receive a $10 loyalty certificate to redeem on your next visit. There is no charge or fee associated with the Smuggler's Group Rewards Program. Just fill out the application, turn it in to us, and start using it right away.
