Set out like a Dublin bar - it was friendly enough but Guinness was just ok and pricey. Staff were efficient and bar was quiet.

Checked this place out based on reviews and boy oh boy we're the reviews bang on. This place rocks. Excellent food. Excellent service. Nice decor. Laid back environment. Good location. We will be back. You should give it a whirl too.

Seated quickly and drinks came out straight away. I had the burger which was good, my partner had the lamb stew which was also very good. Service was excellent. The only let down was dessert. The bread pudding was cold in the middle as was the sauce. Good choice in the heart of Calgary.

Stopped here to catch up with friends. Quickly shown to a table. Our drinks arrived quickly. When we finally got around to ordering food, this also arrived quickly. The lamb shanks were really good as was the blackened chicken and kale salad. The staff were always friendly and checking to see if we needed anything else.

While visiting Calgary in September and looking for a place for lunch, we were lucky to choose the James Joyce Irish Pub. I have tried many pubs, enjoying the casual friendly atmosphere of a pub, but many in Canada fall short of expectations. This was certainly not the case with the James Joyce! From the second we walked in the... More

We were really looking forward to our visit to James Joyce Irish Pub. It was average at best. The Lamb Stew was short on lamb, had potatoes but no carrots, and was served on MORE mashed potatoes - so it was really a potato and gravy meal - the gravy was tasty but too many potatoes - seemed strange to... Fantastic friendly staff (Rebecca) was very kind, helpful and a delightful Irish accent made the whole experience amazing. This is our fave downtown stop for dinner. So good. Every time! Love the Guinness flight of beers, as well.

Some of the best Irish pub style food I've ever had. The establishment itself is extremely nice as is the atmosphere of the place. Our waitress was wonderful as well.

This is literally home away from home for me. Usually there at least once a week to enjoy the atmosphere, great food and friendly staff. Never disappointed.
