We were looking for something to blast our taste buds and we found it. We were looked after beautifully and we enjoyed our chicken curry and shepherds pie. My only niggle was that I could not taste the alcohol in my cocktail. If we were in Calgary again it would be on our list of places to re- visit.

visited Calgary for a few days whilst in Canada mid August, this was an excellent bare with Irish beers and great reasonably priced food. Rebecca looked after us every visit and was brilliant

They really captured the feel of an Irish pub! From the decor to the vibe and of course most importantly, the beverages and food. I know a little about this subject having spent considerable time in the U.K. and with "me mum" being from London! The bangers and mash was the real deal, my wife had the fish and chips... More

Came here on a Monday evening. Very cool building in the middle of the historic Stephen Avenue stretch of 8 Ave. Very friendly staff, but not very knowledgable - didn't know the name of the local brewery (Big Rock). Poor beer selection, kind of pricey. Beautiful pub inside and out, but also some tacky decor when you look more closely... More

Attended this pub on two nights. The staff were friendly. The atmosphere was very pleasant. Irish music was piped in the ground floor of the building. On the lower floor there are many Guinness items and Irish dancing costumes on display. The meals were excellent especially their home made chips which were moorish. The prices were very reasonable and would... More

Great food. Great service. Sat down and was offered a Guinness. Enjoyed the Kilkenny chicken and the berry tartlet.

There was nothing particularly special about the food here. The bread for the sandwich was a bit like an untoasted soft dinner roll. Everything was just fine just not stand out. Usual pub fare.

We visited this pub for dinner one evening, and found the food and service to be so good we went back each night for the remainder of our stay in Calgary. The service staff were very knowledgable about the menu options, and were also very friendly and loved to provide information about the pub itself. The food was amazing given... More

I find a lot of pubs to be pretty cookie cutter these days. I'll give James Joyce credit for a good attempt at an authentic irish pub. Food was tasty and good quality. Nice patio on the street. Service was top notch.

Owner imported much of the fixtures etc. direct from Ireland. Nice pub feel with quiet little "snugs", barstools, or larger party tables.

Thank Peter B
