Loved it! Four of us had an amazing dinner, many thanks to Chef Jenny. Everything was perfect, rich menu choices, fantastic complex and innovative flavours served by wonderful staff. Prices were very fair, wine list quite sufficient and atmosphere warm and intimate.
Best Calgary restaurant for service and food. It’s been our go to restaurant for years and without fail, those we’ve introduced to Vero, also become fans. It’s unpretentious, comfortable, intimate and scrumptious. Service is always as exceptional as the food. It’s a small restaurant so...it’s not too loud. I recommend seafood and their surf and turf plates. Really… you can’t go wrong with anything!More
Great little Italian restaurant in Kensington Village area of Calgary. The TripAdvisor reviews did not steer us wrong. Cosy ambience, wonderful friendly thoughtful service and food was amazing. Would highly recommend. Enjoyed the burrata salad, green ravioli and bolognese. Unfortunately we were too full for...dessert. We will return next time we are in Calgary!More
We went here for a Birthday dinner and had Jody as our waitress. To make it short - the service was good, food was amazingly delicious, atmosphere is comfortable for having good time over dinner. The prices are reasonable for such quality. Will we come...again? Definitely.More

This was honestly the best steak I've ever had and I've eaten at a lot of high end restaurants. The salad was also amazing with unique ingredients perfectly blended. Excellent service and good value overall.
We have just finished a 2 week trip in Canada. We have had several meals in top 10 restaurants (TripAdvisor ranking) in Vancouver and Rocky Mountains. This was our best dinning experience! Outstanding food and a very effective and friendly service.

Vero Bistro Moderne has been on my radar since 2016, so it was nice to finally patronize it this past April. Given its sterling reputation – named best restaurant in Calgary and fourth-best restaurant in Canada by TripAdvisor in 2015, and continuously in Canada’s “Top...100” for OpenTable – how could one not be excited to try one of the country’s apparent best eateries? Vero Bistro’s dining room is often described as “sleek,” but that’s just a cute synonym for “small.” Despite this, however, you in no way feel crowded when dining in. The combination of table set-up + atmosphere makes for an enjoyable and comfortable dining experience. It is, in a word, romantic – perfect for date night. After reviewing the menu, I ordered their signature Sweet Potato Gnocchi while my partner had the Garganelli. Without getting overly wordy, I will just say that my gnocchi was easily some of the best I’ve had. I enjoyed the innovation of Chef Jenny – combining Italian and French influences with a bit of Canadian flair. The use of sweet potato, wild boar bacon, walnuts and maple butter made for a perfectly balanced dish – one that is light, savoury and with a hint of sweet. Similarly, my partner’s Garganelli was beautifully done: The pasta was perfect and the seafood exceptional. For dessert, we enjoyed the tiramisu overall, but did find it a bit “heavy” in comparison to other versions we’ve had elsewhere. FOOD: 5/5 SERVICE: 5/5 VALUE: 4/5 RECOMMENDATION: While I was disappointed to see breakfast struck from the menu (it was available when I first looked this place up some 7 years ago), our dinner was nothing short of phenomenal. Chef Jenny and her team have put together a menu that beautifully balances Mediterranean influences into a beautiful gestalt. The food is authentic, “vero,” and gives foodies like us something to be excited about! Highly recommended! WOW! Such a great meal. We don’t go out to eat often because I often come out saying I could’ve don’t better at home. But this meal put me in my place. We did the surf and turf spear Al so got to try a...few dishes and there was nothing that disappointed. Excited to come back and try some more of the chef’s offerings.More

We were delightfully surprised when Chef Jenny herself brought the main platter of food (Surf and Turf for Two), which included Grilled Black Angus Beef Tenderloin, herb butter sauce; Grilled Free Range Lamb Chops, Barolo reduction; Butter Poached Lobster Tail; House Made Tortellini, stuffed with...roasted pork & vegetables; mortadella, slow-cooked Berkshire pork Bolognese; Signature Coconut Prawns, mango aioli; Truffle Parmesan Frites, lemon aioli; and Roasted Vegetables (eggplant, zucchini)--to our table. Our servers, Michael and Riley, were solicitous without being overbearing. We had a great date night, and a terrific start to our May long weekend.More
