Another trip to La Casa Latina which is our fave latin restaurant in Calgary. Good food for sure, and we really enjoyed the good service. We will definitely be back soon.

If you love latin food this is the place to visit.. From pupusas to paella and bandeja paisa, the options are all delicious.. Yo can have a pint of "refajo" or enjoy your favorite Jarrito or Mexican beer. The place is clean and spacious and...the attention was perfect!!More
I have visited Mexico many times and this place is the real deal. We shared guac and chips and then the shrimp mocajete, which I have seen in Mexico but have never tried. Super glad we had it here! Amazing. Service was excellent too!
This past Saturday my wife and I ventured out to have a meal at La Casa Latina. The server that was assigned to our table was a new employee, but provided us with great service. We started with an order of Empanadas and Green Plantains...with Guacamole, which were all great tasting. We followed up with entrees that included pulled spicy pork and plantain and rice ( I forget the name) but the tastes were bold and very delightful. This was definitely an excellent choice for our Saturday evening!More
On this occasion we were served by the lovely Jillian. After she brought our drinks ( and my wife claims that they serve the best virgin margarita in town!!) we setteld into our Guacamole and Pico de Gallo with chips. We then followed up with...our Entrees. My wife ordered the sure fire delicious Chicken Enchiladas Verde. For the first time ever I ordered the Flautas. I absolutely loved them. A Great meal with great friendly service. What else could we ask for?!??!!!!!More
We went here on a recent Saturday evening and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. For the first time ever, I tried the steak meal, and it was delicious!. The plate included the steak, which was marinated and perfectly cooked to my liking, rice, beans, plantains, salsa,...and what else I cannot recall, but it was filled with flavour. We received excellent service from Marwan and his lovely wife CindyMore
A Friday night and we were craving Mexican food. We wandered over to La Casa Latina and were greeted by the ever friendly Marwan and his lovely wife Cindy. The food came out very fast and hot. The Chicken Enchiladas which we each ordered were...delicious. My wife prefers the Red Ranchero Sauce. My go-to is the Green Verde sauce. Both are excellent choices. Love it.More
This was a very quiet night, the first Friday since the Pandemic Second Wave restrictions were put in place by the government. I ordered my usual Chicken Enchiladas in Green Sauce. Lovely as usual. I am at a loss to remember what my wife ordered,...but I do recall that she felt that her choice was delicious. Great service as usual.More
I moved here from southern Texas, where there's a good Mexican or Tex-Mex restaurant on every corner. When I moved to Calgary, I tried desperately to find good Mexican food. A few places had a dish, maybe two, that weren't bad... and others had decent...food, but it was hardly authentic (tomato-basil sauce on a burrito? WTF?) So when La Casa Latina opened just a few blocks from me, I was not expecting much. Mind. Blown. Firstly, I'll just say this: the fajitas are the best I've ever tasted. Ever. The chicken fajita is especially good, with flavourful, moist and juicy strips of chicken with strips of green pepper and mango(!) If you're there with a friend, I can't recommend the molcajete enough. It's a stone bowl, bubbling with savoury sauce, cheese, veggies, and the meat of your choice. We have friends who drive up from Okotoks JUST to have this dish. The guacamole is spectacular as well (and I don't even usually like guac) and if you've got the appetite, it's a must-order. Hell, you could just order the guac and skip the meal if you wanted. Enchiladas are good, but are done in a more traditional Mexican/Central American way than the Tex-Mex versions I'm used to. The tacos al pastor (shredded pork cooked in pineapple) are perfect for lunch or a light dinner and my husband raves about the empanadas (meat pies). Margaritas are good and not too sweet (at least the lime - haven't tried the others). Horchata (cold rice/cinnamon beverage) is a bit sweet for me, though. Desserts include a ridiculously good fried ice cream ball and a "chocochanga" - a fried burrito filled with chocolate and a banana. Might want to share that one! The family who runs the place are all very nice and the service is attentive but not overbearing. It's the go-to place whenever we have friends visiting and want to take them someplace with great food that won't drain the wallet.More
It had been seven months since we had dined here ( because of the pandemic) so our taste buds were watering. My wife ordered the Pabillon Criollo, which she absolutely loved. I stuck with my usual Chicken Enchiladas in Verde sauce. Delicious. Maruan gave us...excellent service.More
We arrived here on a Saturday evening without a reservation. The place was packed. Regardless, Jillian was very kind and managed to fit us in. She is a very gracious hostess. We enjoyed a bowl of Guacamole with chips, and our Empanadas were delicious as...well. I asked Jillian to make a recommendation for me, as all I have ever had here is the Chicken Enchiladas, which I love. She suggested the flatiron steak, which is charbroiled, and served with a large number of butterflied shrimp and a healthy green salad, with rice. I loved it. My wife loved her tacos. Our two friends decided to share a chicken and steak fajitas dish, which they declared to be very tasty as well.More
So where do I begin... Lets start with the one positive I have, the food tasted good. That's all I got because the ownership/management of this restaurant was absurd. They handled themselves VERY POORLY. My mother who is in town from Halifax asked me to...take her out to a Mexican Restaurant and I said sure Mom! I live downtown and my fiancé said lets try this place out. We get to this restaurant and it looks cool and we are all super excited and Hungry! Once in we were greeted nicely taken to our table and everything was going smooth. We all order our food, I got the Steak Burrito, my fiancé got Enchiladas and my mother got Veggie Burrito. I have been to many Mexican restaurants in Canada and the US also Mexico itself and I have NEVER seen Zucchini and Carrots in a burrito.... It doesn't even say this is in the veggie burrito on the menu it just said veggies. My mom thought it would be just a bean burrito with rice and cheese maybe some peppers. Our mistake for not asking more questions about it, but how were we to know about it if it was our FIRST TIME there. Look, honest mistakes happen... How this was handled was amateurish at best. The waitress said we can get you another one however this one you ordered you will still have to pay for this... we can pack it for you if you like. That's when we my mother was confused as why would we pay for this it was honestly a mistake if I knew this was in it I would not order. The manager who looked like she quite frankly could give a ______ came up and started pointing at the menu and talking in a condescending tone saying well didn't your read the menu and couldn't you have told the waitress how you wanted your Burrito. Then she said I will check with the Kitchen to see what I can do and NEVER returned. Felt like she was to scared to address the situation professionally. Look I love small business and my family owns one too and I know we all have to make a buck and meet our margins. BUT when you charge nearly $18 for a Burrito plate I'm sure the margin is pretty good and you can afford to replace a Burrito. The FUNNIEST thing is if you would have handled this properly my tip would have been much bigger and this review could be VERY DIFFERENT. Long story short, put more effort into taking care of your customers. We did not drive to your restaurant to order something wrong on purpose....not one has time for that. I Paid for the Burrito my mother didn't like or eat! And I Still left a 15% tip. You Guys Should Do Something About This. Just an overall atrocious experience from your "management and ownership" You can do a lot better than this...More
Birthday bash for my husband and bro-in-law.. We came here the first time on Mother’s day with no reservation so we didn’t get a chance to dine here as it was fully booked, so I reserved this time to avoid disappointment! The service was wonderful,...friendly staff. Really delicious food!More
The high rating of this restaurant is not justified. Steaks are from lowest quality cuts. Fried fish, supposedly their specialty, is tasteless. Drinks are to large compared to the amounts of alcohol they put in them and as result are watery. Clearly the barman doesn't...know how to make a Margarita or a mojito. The pallela is tasteless and unauthentic. Very disappointing. Would not go back again.More
It was our second anniversary, and my wife and I were looking for something a little different than our usual trip to a Steakhouse, Italian restaurant or wine bar etc, . Along with an appetizer, we ordered the steak and chicken Mocaljete. Not only was...the food amazing, but it was so much fun to eat. Just a great casual dining experience. This place left us wanting to return the next day. We actually had our leftovers for breakfast the next morning. Great job La Casa Latina. We will see you again soon.More
