We spent one night in Banff and were looking for a relaxed, good value meal. We lucked out. The staff was very friendly and the service was really good. We were all very happy with our meals and highly recommend this pub.

Even had a band one night. A great menu with the typical pub fare, and some excellent Irish dishes as well. Excellent selection of beers. Good price. Fun atmosphere.

This pub is excellent value. We are here on our first night in Banff and found this place on the Main Street. The food is excellent and service was brilliant. Very friendly and very reasonably priced too. Highly recommended.

Stopped in mid-afternoon for a quick lunch. It was not quick. We were first greeted in a friendly way, and offered water and drinks, but it was some time before our server returned to take our order. Waited a while for our food as well. Lamb stew was fine, but tomato soup not great. Had to send the bartender to... More

Today we visited the "Saint James's Gate Olde Irish Pub" and were really disappointed. The lady seated us and gave us menus. Within next 15 minutes nobody approached us to offer at least water, which would be very nice on such a hot day. We were very tired and hungry, and as long as nobody was coming for the next... More

Even with 12 people to keep happy this Irish pub did it. Great service with plenty of choices for both food and drink this pub even caters to young ones until 10pm. All 12 meals passed the test even the kids menu items. The prices are very reasonable and the menu is quite varied.

I thought that the pub was very crowded for a weekday. I imagine that July is a primetime for vacationers. The food was okay but not more than average. The server was friendly and attentive but you could see that she had a lot to take care of. We enjoyed our dinner with friends.

The portions are just the right size! My friend had the shepherd's pie and I had the soba noodle salad and both were not huge portions and were just right. Flavor was good, wait staff was friendly and fast, and the live band added to the ambiance!

My cousin recommended this pub so I was expecting good Irish faire. It was tasty but, unfortunately, it was "Canadianized". The pub was noisy and the beer was mediocre. The watress was very friendly and helpful.

We always enjoy stopping at Irish pubs in every major city we visit and we had a great experience at this one. The bartenders were knowledgeable and friendly. They also gave us great advice for site seeing. One even hopped online and checked the times that Bow Valley Parkway was open for us...that's going above and beyond. The fish and... More
