Covid control well exercised & felt very safe. Super friendly service. Meal delivered quickly. Main course and desert both delicious. Thank you Pointer Team

Visited during "eat out to help out" period for lunch. Good sized carpark however this was full (probdue to EOTHO scheme). Had to sit in car and wait for space as nowhere else locally to park. Table in garden. Very nice. Comfortable atmosphere. Umbrella brought...over when asked for. Food was very good. Steaks cooked well. Mackerel pate was a favourite. Portion size goodably . Reasonable prices even without the offer. Take away boxes provided when asked for as daughter couldn't finish all her meal. Very nice visit. Thank you.More

Visited for Sunday lunch. Booked for a table in dining room and on arrival was not happy with social distancing. 16 people were seated in a small dining area with no windows open and social distancing guidelines not observed. We decided to eat outside in...spite of the cool weather. Food was excellent and service good, but a pity about distancing.More

Hi Gilly Thank you for your review. I'm very pleased you enjoyed your food and service. The dining room does have windows that are opened when it isnt too cold. As they are above one table in particular and Sunday was a little chilly they...More

Popped in for lunch yesterday, had the most amazing fish and chips, excellent portion size, freshly cooked. Not only was the food superb but the staff were delightful, friendly, chatty and helpful. Will definitely be making this our regular ‘go to’ They have a really...good system in place for current restrictions, so no worries there!More

We had seen some recommendations for this place and as we were meeting parents on the island we decided to stop here for a drink, once we saw the food menu we agreed to come back the following day for food. This was the best...meal we had on the island, the food was amazing and the service was great and even my 2 Yr old said it was the best food ever. Great value and a nice various choice of food. This little restaurant is what we were after. As a family with a 8 month old and 3 year old fantastic service to us is paramount. The staff took time to talk to our children and delivered a very genuine service. The food was faultless...and was thoroughly enjoyed by all of us. Such a lovely relaxed place again with fabulous food.More

A massive disappointment visiting for what we had hoped would be a Sunday roast that lives up to the high recommendations given it was our first visit to the island. However the meats were all pale, thinly sliced (like school dinner) and at least 30%...fat, definitely not cooked on site. The parsnips were raw inside, condiments from sachets filled with E numbers and atmosphere flat and dull. Regretting not going to one of the other lovely looking pubs we passed to get to this place.More

Thank you for your review. It is always a massive disappointment when an establishment doesn't get the chance to rectify any issues a diner has with their meal. Had you mentioned your concerns to a member of the team when courtesy checked we would of...More

Visited here whilst on holiday in the Isle of Wight mainly as I have a German pointer dog but also as a result of the excellent reviews. The service was excellent and lots of good Covid measures in operation. The food was amazing, loved the...steak and ale pie so much we went back again a few days later! Fish and chips also very good. The smaller portions on the menu seem better value and were plenty for a lunch portion. The locals are very lucky to have such a lovely pub on the doorstep!More

Great service in outdoor covered area with heaters. Scotch egg starter was lovely, lamb chops were more over cooked than stated on the menu and unfortunately frozen chips served. Apple crumble was delicious. Good selection of drinks. Main course was a bit overpriced. A more...than average meal because of starter and pud but main course let it down.More

Thank you for your review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your scotch egg starter and crumble dessert and that the service was great. I'm disappointed by your comments about your Barnsley Chops. Firstly, when courtesy checked by the landlord whether everything was to your satisfaction...More
