During a recent 10 day holiday in Great Longstone we eat in this pub twice . We had different food at each meal all excellent. Somehow we managed to squeeze puddings in as well which were equally as good . Would definitely recommend it and...More

We have been wanting to try the packhorse for a while and can definitely say we weren't disappointed. The pork belly my partner had looked very nice and i was told it was. I decided on the Packhorse platter which is a very large ploughmans...More

Top notch gastro-fare and great beer in a character pub near many of the best sites of interest in the white peak. Very handy for the Monsal trail - about half a mile - and the main Buxton to Bakewell road for easy access.

You will enjoy the bear and food on offer, we stayed at Dale Farm with motor-home, and ducked in when it started to drizzle, the bar man from Ashford made us and our dog sooooo welcome, great little find

Enjoyed pork belly and honey glazed lamb at this charming rustic pub. Food was delicious and above average Fayre, beer and wine were also well kept and selected. Hospitable team. Small garden and lovely walks from the rear of the pub. Recommended.

This pub isn't far from where we were staying so popped along for lunch. Nice little old pub, great choice of menu. We both had the lamb steaks with home made coleslaw and sweet potato fries. Cooked to perfection, so sad that we were full...More

We stayed a while back at a very nice pub a few miles above the Packhorse in a village called Foolow near Eyam. Very nice rooms.
