We came back after a couple years, food still awesome and the atmosphere is great. I loved the remodeling inside, but we always seat on the patio. Service was good and best bloddy marys in town for sure.

After our forced 3 month absence from Puerto Penasco, we wanted to try a new restaurant. Since we hadn't been to Max's Cafe, off we went for a new adventure. Max's offers an extensive menu. I chose the Mexican Omelet (Chorizo and cheese) with home...fries, and re-fried beans, paired with a very large Bloody Mary. The omelet was perfect, home fries were tasty and the re-fried beans were in the "to die for" category. Mostly, American food. Cash only payment. Recommend paying in pesos rather than US currency to save on cost. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.More

We stayed in Rocky Point for the entire month of January and went to Max's at least twice a week. Everything we had was great. Our favorites: Shrimp and Artichoke Bruschetta, Chicken Marsala, Tortilla Soup, Grilled Fish/Shrimp Tacos (at lunch) and Deluxe Chicken Quesadilla (at...lunch). Great service, they would see us coming and had our beers ready as soon as we sat down. Quaint location with an outdoor patio with fire pit. Specials every night of the week with great prices. They take US but no credit cards.More

We 1st visited Max's two years ago on a Wednesday and had their Shrimp Platter (12 Shrimp done 4 diff ways). A very tasty dinner. We returned last year several times (Jan-Mar) and visited again last week. Still great Shrimp platter. Four weeks ago at...a hospital in Mexico, I had a knee replacement done. I am rehabbing well. We are this year staying across from Max's. Tonight I walked across the street to pick up a take order for dinner, went into my pocket and realized I had forgotten my wallet. Without hesitation, the server who I did not recognize said "You can come in and pay for it tomorrow." I was taken back by the trust that they showed me. I whole-heartedly recomend trying their food and service. Thank You for your trust.More

The shrimp and artichoke brochette was "to die for." We ate there twice, and loved all of our food. Max's was close to our condo, within walking distance.

Fantastic food, staff and drinks.... Everyone including I think the owners made you feel like it's home ... try a Bloody Mary... the best.

We love our tradition of a stop at Max’s for breakfast/lunch. The waitstaff is always friendly. Max is the perfect host. Good food. Good vibe. Good spot.

We eat breakfast at Max's every time we are in Rocky Point, which is often. Food is always great and the staff is friendly. We don't drink Bloody Mary's but we have been told by many they are the best.

Cash only. There is an ATM machine at Max's but I have never used it so I don't know the fees it charges.
